The way 2018 turned out made a lot of us wanna be thinking "Give Jake a Break"............and I agree he earned that.
I still find it hard to figure how he put himself , as captain , above the team a couple of years ago, and aint convinced he's all Trent makes him out to be.
Hard to forget the first half of last season as well as the couple before.

I wanna have the faith................but I'm old and pessismistic these days.
Praps we could start by not letting him do the press conferences.......................Ever.!!!!!!! yawn and cringe,.

Glad he decided that Cronk was allowed to be passed the ball, and that his main job differs to what Cook offers souffs........

Winning revolves around team harmony and Jake, JWH, Cordner and Aubbo have been the backbone of the pack for a few years now. There was concern that moving Mitch on would affect that harmony, but I think the boys knew just how much he was stretching the boundaries. And our board were over making excuses. Captain Cordner was particularly welcoming of Cronk to the side. We played as professional as I've known the team under Robbo in the lead up the the finals and throughout them. It was great to see the dedication of the team and it earned us a premiership - minor and major.

Jake is Roosters through and through and he'll go when the times right. Right now most of the players swear by him and I don't see any sense in upsetting the apple-cart too early. Nick and the board will have the loyalty to help Jake after footy and so when the time for the secession plan comes, I think he'll go along with it. There's not much more he can achieve except another green and gold. I just hope he can maintain his grand final form. He never let us down in the big one. Was one of the best on the park.

If Jake makes QLD side I’ll be honest - I reckon I might have genuine split loyalty during SoO.

Back in the Lam and Matt Sing days, I must admit I had a soft spot for QLD. And again in the early 2,000’s when Crocker, Hegarty and Flannery were there.

Call it payback for that dark period in the late 80’s and early 90’s when no Easts players got chosen for SoO, other than an odd game for Salvo and Trewhella.

I started to hate QLD in the midst of their dominance over the last decade - big time - but now that the fckwits have retired and they’re underdogs again, I can see my hate mellowing.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

I still love Freddy and was so happy for him that his tenure as Blues coach got off to a flying start.

He did away with the trash and picked a bunch of brilliant rookies and was rewarded.

Also we've got a good batch of Blues atm with Teddy, Latrell, Cords, Angus and soon to be Keary & Rads.

So I'm well and truly staying on the Blues bandwagon for a while yet. Though I'd love to see Jake get a go and perform well.

I reckon Ben Hunt will get the gig at no.9 though.

Very true. You make a good point.
In Brandon's case there's many similarities btw our situation and Melba's i.e coach, winning culture etc...

We havnt seen Brandon lead a team yet.A quality that takes time .
Its criminal Jake has never played SOO surely last year once his form hit good he shouldve been picked.
If I was a Cane Toad selectore he would be the first bloke picked.

Brandon is highly regarded at such a young age and has ability. Nth Qld must be spewing they allowed him, Pongia and Kikau to join other clubs - crazy!!!
Brandon represented the Kiwis against the Poms a few months ago and did a sterling job considering he was recovering from a knee injury he sustained before the semis. So glad they selected him ahead of grubby Isaac Luke.
