Not writing this to be negative. Just how the only thing that counts is the actual game. And this is where the disappointment of last year will help motivate our men. We made moves to address that loss as soon as the dust settled. Now we see how effective those moves have been. But I have to say I like what I see.

We did not scrape home in games on the back of Gordon's trusty boot. Our defense is better and our attack more demanding. We have cut down on the get the opponent out of jail penalties that prevented us building any pressure. Apart from the dummy half forward passes and a few clunkers at the back, we have stopped giving possession away. We can kick 40/20's and our kicks are never way out on the full or failing to find touch from a penalty. We don't kick off from a restart out on the full.

So it's a lot different that our Cowboy days. We are mentally much tougher and more disciplined and that will be the difference.
I have the exact same fear and I guess that's why I love the sport. We SHOULD be maybe a 75% chance of winning on paper I reckon. However, we always struggle against physical teams. ALWAYS!!! George farking Burgess and Angus farking Crichton will run amok and our bench is sooo limited (with Maubs starting in the centres and Napa out).

I'm confident in our starting squad but we will have spells where it's Butcher and Collins up against the simple but effective tactic of 'run the Burgess brothers + Crichton at wm then peg the ball to Cook, Inglis or Gagai whenever you see a hole'. Simple gameplans like that WORK because they don't rely on all the class and polish that we bring to the game. If Souffs get ahead early and are given a heap of penalties... they'll just get their forwards to grind us + Reynolds to constantly grubber the ball into touch. We won't catch them.

If Cronk controls the positional game early, we weather the initial 30 minute Burgess/Crichton onslaught without conceding more than a try and Teddy/Toops/Manu/Fergo aren't dropping the ball, we will break them. We need to beat them in the race so that THEY are interchanging their exhausted big boys before we are giving SST/JWH/Cords/Liu a spell. If we do that and score a few tries doing so, they will be broken. Their only hope will be a last 20 minute physical spell, at which stage they'll be playing catch-up and Cronk will bureaucratise those farkers out of the game with his superior game management.

I can't find a pundit tipping the Roosters.

I think this is a great sign tbh.

                We feel like underdogs.

Possession will be key so winning depends a lot which Easts turns up, the error ridden mistake prone one or the one which completes its sets and has good discipline.

In a few preliminary finals we’ve lost poor discipline and dumb mistakes have been a major factor. The only ones who can beat us tonight really is ourselves.

If the Ferrari wasn't in the shop..........it'd be exciting to enjoy a gf week. We can't take a backward step.

There'll be some favor thrown fat souffs way, we must absorb and put the pressure right back on them.

Damn we could have used naps tonight, even for a flying headbutt

I believe you !! All league teams have some special supporters but Souffs out do them all. I'm sure they are all from the same parents if you trace their family tree back, inbreeding is accountable for their fan base

Crocker, Brandy and Ennis also tipping Souffs.

You'd think we were $8 scab outsiders. NO ONE is tipping us and I love it.
