I would like to give credit to the chookpen..

Last night you guys had a very good game..

Strong up the middle as well as being strong out wide..

Even tending on sensational at times...

Come to think about it, a lot like the Roosters game..

    Very impressive stuff.

My kids want to sit with you next year, even after I explained that you're all feral mongrels...

Thank heavens a few of you caught this bias too as it gives me the sh1ts large hearing all about the drizzle being without so many of their players. How about this list you media wankers ...

Also, what SuperMuzz wrote is spot on - the storm beat the Roosters earlier in the year without the "big three" so with their regular halves pairing on field behind a spare parts forward pack, what is the excuse this time? I put it down to the game meaning nothing to them and them playing accordingly having more of an effect than the absence of smith and cronk.

Well done to the Roosters for putting 40 on them - I wish it had been 50 - 0.

To be fair, most of those guys have been missing all season...

Slater and Smith are arguably the two best players in the world and were rested by the 2011 minor premiers...(So it is news)..

All the media I read were fair and credited us with the win..

It really is a pity that Smith and Slater are the 2 best players in the world. The commentators had good reason to point out they were not on the park. The list above doesnt even compare to those 2 missing from the team.

Did the commentators harp on? Yes! But to compare our players out with the 2 they were missing shows what they give to the Storm.

Spot on PTB. As much as it sucks, they finished first and we finished 11th. Their season well and truly starts now and ours is over.

All the media I saw gave us credit but we are not the story at this time of this year.

^this. The 40-8 scoreline has given the boys enough credit and as long as the players recognise that, then it's all okay. Our season is over, so it's time to move on.!

Not paranoid, PtB, annoyed -there is a difference.

I knew someone would trot out the response that you did and I'm not surprised it was you ...

Ahhh, and there's more of you, TOK (with his particularly stupid response) and others.
We'll just agree to disagree. The Roosters were credited in small proportion to the amount the storm were excused as far as I'm concerned.

But to compare the players with Smith and Slater is the real laugh of the thread.

Who's comparing "the players with smith and slater?" That wasn't what I was doing or intending to do. What riled me is the fact that no mention (to my limited knowledge) was made of the fact that the Roosters were also without some of their quality players. Now if I bother to compare, isn't one of the Roosters' missing players on a par with smith and slater (I'm referring to Carney here)? Throw in Myles who isn't too shabby and the scales begin to balance a little bit.

As I said in another post and without taking away from the Roosters win whatsoever, it is my feeling that the storm lost less because of their missing players and more because the game meant nothing to them.

Alot of that makes sense. I just think when you are talking about the 2 best players in the comp missing from a team the commentators are always going to harp on.

There is only a handful of player that are as valuable to a team as those 2 are for the Storm, and none of them play for the RWB!

Commentators didnt bother me at all! A fair and balanced view of things is, they were missing great players, we were missing good players!
