Totally agree with the three inducted. My father (who had me very late in life) watched Messenger in his teens and always considered him the best he had seen and Frank Burge the best forward he had seen. I wasn't born until the fifties so I saw none of these guys but read everything I could on the games history from when I was young. Around twelve I got to meet Dave Brown, when he was a Metropolitan selector, at Redfern Oval prior to an Easts pre-season game and got his autograph. He was the Bradman of league and a great old Easts man. I remember coming home all excited and dad saying, 'good, but hw wasn't as good as Messenger as a player.' So how good was Dally? Great to see these three honoured. They probably should have been the first.

            He deserves nothing in return.
Not to mention the centre that was too (insert what ever you want) to play in the fowards

"Petero Civoniceva, Mark Graham, Cliff Lyons, Steve Menzies, Ricky Stuart and Gorden Tallis were also officially inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame as recognition for their playing achievements."

Love how that just farking slips in there. IMO the whole immortals thing has become a farce and it means nothing. Everybody already knows who the champs of each era are (Dally M already had the top prize named after him and Provan has the farking premiership trophy named after him). Meninga?

Guess I should be happy that 2 are Easts players but fark me... its as if Fox is trying to create its own version of history now. Its all about BS nostalgia that nobody ever experienced... just like those farking hipsters with their beards and tats, who couldnt tell a decent life story amongst the lot of them despite their pretensions.

Brown "the Bradman of League" and Dally M......who said the tricolors have no juniors??? Both now confirmed immortals ! Im glad that Norm Provan was selected.....his achievements will never be repeated.
Frank Burge.....a forward who scored 146 tries in 167 games-freak!!! . To put it in perspective Steve Menzies scored 238 tries but it took him 477 games.
As for Mal " i owe rugby league nothing" Meninga....i dont think he is a immortal....mainly on the basis that as a centre Reg Gasnier, Steve Rogers were actually better all round players. Personally i thought Gene Miles was a better player than Meninga. Plus Meninga is a bit of a dick head....even The Courier Mail agrees....

I guess it is the Qld influence and bias that Lockyer was on the list of nominations. I don't understand how anyone could justify his selection on the nomination list.

Vic Radley shares a thing in common with Dave Brown both being from Bronte. Browns folks had the kiosk / dressing sheds.
