Are you his right or left testicle? Cronk was brought to fast track and mentor Lam and Sully unlike that dog rooting, pill popping drunk party boy,

I hate that we sold Pearce, he was ours and I wish him well.
Cronk is a hired gun and it sux, does he really offer that much?
Just my opinion and if we win the GF this year then all good but I did not like the deal.
We have had some really good buys over the last 6 years with SBW, Jennings, Maloney, Keary, but I think we got this one wrong.
We have developed some great players and managed our cap so well.
We got great service at a bargain price for Furgo, but he has earned his pay check and good luck to him at Parra.
Not hating on the club, Pearce had some off field issues that cost the club so I am sure that had something to do with it.

Keep telling yourself that, he is dong what that only muppet could never do, our young blokes, club and fans will reap the rewards, Ostrich’s with their heads buried in the sand and nay sayers like you will continue to drown in your own dribble

IMO he remains a fantastic halfback, but he isn't a Captain's arsehole.

Which has been his entire problem all along.

He should never have been shouldered with any responsibility with the exception of calling and organising the plays.

His off field dramas are nothing compared to most in the game, believe me.

The Chook Pen are very hard markers.

Yes Cronk was signed to deliver a premiership, eventually. Pearce wasn't for that but he's role was as social events coordinator for the players.

Pearce was never going to lead us to a Premiership.

He rode Jimmy and SBWs coattails hardcore in 2013.

We all saw how he and the team went last year when he was supppsed to be the leader. It was an embarrassment.

So even if he was 45, Cronk would still be the much better option for the big finals games.

That is simply not true but if it makes you feel better to believe it then good luck to you. The decision to bring Cronk in and nicely move Pearce out was made in the middle of the year well before another finals flop by Pearce. It was primarily based on the club being sick of the poor continued influence that Pearce was having on the younger players in the squad over many years. The chance to sign an impeccable character and proven big game pressure performer like Cronk was far too good to refuse. It was not made for the short term in mind but for the longer term influence that he will have on the young players, not just the young halves but the rest of the young players in our squad. It was the right decision for our club moving forward in the long term.

If anyone thinks that pearce was a good influence on young players then they are the ones that are delusional.

Dont take this the wrong way, but are you talking out of your arse here?

Or do you have intimate knowledge of the inner workings at the club

Still miss his goalkicking that's for sure but not penalties he was always giving away.

I am happy to see Pearce going ok.

I am more than happy with our choice.

                          Tooo funny.

Cronk wasn't signed to win us a premiership he was signed to develop our future talent so we could win one in 5 years time.

It's not that hard to just say we got it wrong with Cronk... hell the jury on that is even still out as we will see come finals time, hopefully that's where we will see his true value and experience.

This pivot in the last month from a few members to 'oh no he was never signed on field purposes it was all for off field stuff' is the biggest laugh I've had in a while though.

You're gonna make me bust a rib. Stop.

Pearce has been better then Cronk this year.
The Cronk signing was not needed, Tedesco signed to play with Pearce and has struggled as have the rest of the team to work with Cronk.
Most of you seem to think Cronk is the greatest thing since sliced bread but I have seen nothing from him to suggest it was a good idea team wise to have Cronk and not Pearce this year.
I could be proved wrong in the long run...I hope I am, but at this stage Cronk has been a dud.

I know now enough about our club to know what I've stated here is correct. And I've been one of Pearce's biggest supporters for a long time. He is extremely well liked by all at our club and still is but the reality is that he was a bad influence off the field on the younger players.

if you think the Cronk deal was made in the space of a week like it's been pretended in the press after the season ended then good luck to you.

like tobin just said, I'm also very happy to see him doing well at Newcastle.

Pearce has a solid game v The Spooners and suddenly he is a superstar. He also starred for us against the shit teams. Just never produced when it counted. Some on here are so fickle and have terrible memories.
