If you were wanting to build a "best Club, on and off the field" like we are [2018 season launch], Robbo would be the first coach you would sign.
You can send him anywhere, put him before any media, before any organisation, and know you can trust him to be a non-foul-mouthed, non-ranting-raving [laden with expletives] in the coaches box, coach.
A perfect gentleman.
He's a good coach, still learning [about the bench etc], but on the way to being a great coach.
What he needs is.....help getting a better deal from referees in matches, which has to come from others.
Great move by the Club. Robbo is one of the best blokes involved in the game in any capacity. And it's not as if there is another coach better than him that is available that would suit the club as well as he does.
Robbo is well respected throughout the league and his players love to be coached by him. And players want to come and play for the Chooks because he is the coach. He's also done a great job in bringing in the young blokes and not pushing them too far too soon. I know some supporters question why they get limited game time to begin with, but Robbo knows what their body and mind can cope with better than anyone.
Robbo is a Rooster through and through and a class act. He is one of the best asset the Chooks club has, which is why they were keen to keep him.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
Most people calling for his head fail to come up with a better 'realistic' alternative when they talk about ditching Robbo. The only other coach I would want is Bellamy and he's not coming so stick with what we have.
Didn't King Salvo tell us this at the start of the season? ?
Oh wait, it was he was getting the sack this year if we don't win the comp.....
Ive read on here at least 15 other posters who have posted that Robbo should be sacked. There has been at least 10 threads started on the subject of "sack Robbo".
Then they want to replace him with another coach whos team is running 10th? Smart.

This pretty much sums things up.. I would have loved to bring Bellamy to the club, however now he is off the market, I cannot see an obvious better option out there. By giving Robbo 4 years it helps give the current player group some certainty as well as prospective signings about the coaching set up going forward. It also helps Robbo plan properly over an extended period of time, rather than looking just at short term solutions.
I am aware that the contract doesn't guarantee that he won't be sacked some time down the track, however I couldn't see it happening over the next couple years. Having Robbo certainly hasn't hurt us in the market place when signing new players so can only think it would be looked upon favourably by potential new recruits.
Matt Elliott made the point on radio yesterday that it was classy that Robbo and the club didn't announce the decision when they made it a few weeks ago, but left it to the bye weekend, so as not to take the focus off performing on the field. With speculation that the Clearys were coming here etc. there must have been the temptation to blurt it out.

Well said NC. Saves me writing a post on this subject as you’ve pretty much summed up how I feel about Robbo and this contract extension. I love Robbo and we’re very very lucky to have him. Even old man Rothfield gave the club and Robbo a big wrap tonight.
