A quick google search on Reece shows nothing recent. Lol, Maybe he is interchanging with his twin brother Travis on the sly in reggies.

Teddy seems to be managing our defensive line pretty well. A novice would not notice this.

I googled Reece and a wonderful lesbian orgy came up. It was great. Who needs footy. The signing of Reece Robinson has paid off.

I thought Reece was a semi-capable reserve during some pretty horrible games (where nobody looked good).

IMO he has been a victim of our early form slump.

Not saying he was amazing, but he did nothing to make me think woooow get that guy off! IMO as a backup player you have done your job if you are simply not cr*p.

Is he not playing/training during ramadan or something?

Red has fled the club to join Andy Dufrane in Zihautenajo, Mexico. It's a place that has no memory so he can forget about his performances for the club.

I love the double standards on here sometimes.
I am assuming this comment is made having attended all training sessions and watching Reece play each week for Wyong. When you sign someone in their prime on big dollars, you have little choice but to persist with them if having a rough trot. You know the physical ability exists, it is just settling into a new system.

When you bring in someone who is on the wrong side of 30, who hasn't played the game in a few years, who was reliant on pace that no longer exists and shows no form, you can't really persist and hope that by some miracle, their physical powers return. This is not rocket science.

I also thought Reece might be a really good back up player but it really does seem that his pace is gone and at is age not likely to return. I'm guessing his form at training has been ordinary as well.

Apart from being old, he had been playing union in which the training intensity is a long way from NRL level. His conditioning would have been a well behind the rest of the team and with age he had lost pace. I watched him in the Panthers trial. He dropped a kick under no pressure and later in the game ran into a hole, instead of sprinting away as he would have done years ago, he was rounded up easily by a couple backrowers. It was enough to tell me he wasn't going to contribute this year.

Me going to training sessions has nothing to do with it. It’s like me saying unless you are the head trainer or coach of Wyong, your opinion doesn’t matter.

If we are on about players signed for certain attributes on the wrong side of 30 (which by the way is an awful argument based on fact that may of the games greats had often killed it and in some cases, still do, we into their 30s) then where does that leave Cooper Cronk? Brought in to replace a guy who was combining very well with his halves partner and what has he delivered? We’ve given him 12 games yet again, people are quick to criticize a player who hadn’t played NRL for quite a while and hasn’t really had a chance to improve with first grade game time. Don’t get me wrong, the criticism is an many was warranted but to hang a player based on less than a handful of games is ludacruis considering the leeway extended to others expected to deliver.

Good point about Ramadan. I didn’t know he was a Moozie but there have been other players who have trained and played during Ramadan. Not sure why he would be any different.

Firstly going to training sessions has everything to do with it. You see the people who make the decisions at the club, ie; the coaching staff, attend every training session, watch every NRL and NSW Cup match and based on this information, make their selections. Obviously the coaching staff are aware that Reece is out of his depth from what they see first hand, day in day out, not just on the basis of the games he played for the NRL team

Unlike Reece Robinson who has spent the bulk of the past couple seasons playing club rugby. Cooper Cronk was playing for the Melbourne Storm, in fact the NRL Premiership winning Melbourne Storm in 2017, he was playing for the World Cup Winning Kangaroos, he was playing in the State of Origin Winning Queensland team. So he was clearly playing at what you could consider a high level at a high standard, so therefore the fact that he is older than the Club rugby playing Reece Robinson is not really a good comparison. Cronk also plays in a position where you can afford to lose some of your speed and still be effective, it is much harder for a guy on the Wing where pace is more important.

The club signed Cronk for the sole reason as they saw him as being able to handle the pressure in big games, something Mitchell Pearce had shown little evidence across a decade of being able to do so. Even if Cronk isn't the answer, they knew Pearce wasn't. It was summed up when Pearce joined Newcastle, already had a few minor alcohol related incidents, spoken about by other players as being 'one of the boys'.

Cronk is our Captain, not officially but he is the one doing all the talking on the field, barking instructions behind the goal line after tries are scored, he is the teams true leader. Not just on the field but off it. Nick and Trent both made the decision to release Pearce as they knew he could never be a leader, a professional role model, this is largely why they signed Cronk and you can be sure the club will move him into the coaching staff afterwards.
