Even at his very worst Pearce created more attack than Cronk is showing at the moment. If Pearce was still here and playing like that you lot would be absolutely ripping shreds off him.

Yes.. Because he would have had 8 years of playing in the same system that he created. Pearce very well could have been playing better. But then what? We finish top 4 and get edged out back to back games in the semis because we have no game management, short kicking game to build pressure or any ability to kick a field goal (until last year). We've bought cronk to get results at the business end of town and I expect he will. Whether we win the comp is another matter as I don't believe we are comp favourites, either now or pre season. But I expect us to be top 4 and in that case people can't argue that Pearce would have been any better. Cronk is a two year proposition.

Keary is way down on last years form as he doesn't know what is role is anymore. Cords - well someone needs to get a passing/offload game into him as his game has really stagnated - this solely running game is too easy for the defence to read.

I would suggest when Crichton comes on board next year Cords will struggle to hold a spot in the team - Matto does have passing and balls skills if allowed to use them- Cords will be battling for a bench spot with Maubs in 2019 I suggest.
Mate, I reckon Mitchell Aubusson is going to end up leaving this year or drop to the lower grade. Cordner is our Captain and there's no chance they'll bench him and Matto is playing well and Aubbo is gonna be 30+ years of age so he's time will be up.

What do you call Anzac Day and the South’s derby if they’re not big games? Cronk was nowhere to be found in either of those matches

Pearce stepped into the Newcastle system and started creating attack for them straight away. Stop making excuses for Cronk.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with his ability to execute attack at the roosters.

And I'm not making excuses for Cronk. He isn't performing to the standard we know he can. But it's like taking a cake out of the oven at the half way point and saying it tastes like sht.

Lol no it’s nothing like that at all. Shouldn’t have to wait for a player of Cronk’s standing to start performing. Hunt and Pearce both performed straight away at their new clubs. The same should be expected of Cronk particularly for the cash he’d be getting and the short time he’s here.

Very true. The two 7 tackle sets he gave away had nothing to do with gelling but were his own stupid mistakes wholly his fault but twice really put us on the racks. He’s in terrible form committing extremely costly errors. Tedesco too has been a complete waste compared to Gordon who won us heaps of matches last season with goals and tries. So far these two new recruits have brought nothing new to the table and we are struggling more now than last season.

Teddy's linebreaks, run meters and tackle bust stats disagree. Along with being an absolute rock at the back. I understand the cronk criticism but not teddy's. On the whole I think it's the coaching of the side that's hindering their performance. St George and Newcastle play very different attacking football to us. They play ad lib footy and can score try's across the park. We seem to be so set in our structures and its not working. Cronks fault or robbos? I think there have been a few cracks in robbos game since before cronk arrived.

I agree Teddy has played some good stuff but both our new recruits seem to be struggling under Robinson. But did we only really buy 1/3 Cronk? Is Cronk really great without Smith & Slater? Looks like he’s not. I still think we should have kept Gordon though even if only for his kicking.
