Can you NOT see that Friend’s primary role as a hooker in attack (like any other Hooker) is to give good, decisive service and he fails to do that more often than not?

It's not just his poor service from dummy half that is an issue. The opposition forwards continually run at him because he gets pushed backwards which means we have no line speed in defence as we are on the back door. Every commentator in the game is mentioning his deficiencies yet Robbo refuses to acknowledge that Friend is a major problem.

Not quite sure what game you were watching but Baptiste offered zilch from dummy half - His first game I understand but those on here wanting him to be the main man at DH would have/should have second thoughts about that for sure and certain.

The funny thing is he did exactly the same stuff as Friend; shuffle two-step then pass yet he is praised to the high heavens and our play makers were still crap with him on the field.

Did you watch that passage of play at all? Victor Radley continued his run right in the path of Friend, what was he supposed to do pass it at Radley's head or hold on to the ball and get tackled? That delay caused Walker to be in Cronk's face as the ball arrived because Friend hesitates and attempts to pass it in front of him so if Radley doesn't get in the way then Friend can easily get off a pass to Cronk in time.

Hes a first grade hooker,you dont throw shit passes like that what you do is take the tackle and go to ground you dont throw hospital passes to teammates,it makes you really unpopular with the recipient of the pass in the sheds.

Actually i did watch that passage of play , hence why i commented on it. I dont get in the habit of giving my 2 cents worth on play that i dont see He had the option to release it earlier and as per usual he held on too long,then chose the wrong option. Thinking on the run isnt Friends strong suit and i think you just confirmed that with your statement. What was he suppose to do? Simply chose an option that doesnt nearly cost us the game. Walker didnt knock it on.It was a lucky call that went our way. Most probably he would have went all the way. So my question to you is. Would you still be defending Friend if that happened. What was he suppose to do you say. Haha
