I would think most clubs count success on the amount of premierships they win.

Not many have won more than the Roosters.

Not silly when you think about it.
Cronk has been given no chance in a couple of games this season. He has had defenders right on top of him the second he receives the ball.

Much respect to Dean Pay,he saw the problem and fixed it..
        Robbo just ignores it
        There we go Lydon.
A post that is critical of Robbo that even I agree with.
I guess it's the way you word it.

BTW, the Webster article is a load of crap.
Thinks he's being clever , but he's just proving he ain't a league person.

He isn't a League person. He is Rugby Union through and through. I remember in one of his articles that his ideal Saturday was a going to watch Randwick play at Randwick Rugby Park. He is a more of a creative writer than a journalist, he doesn't have a lot of credibility.

One has to admire Coach Pay for dropping his rake Lichaa for sub par performances. That change made a telling difference, so much so they almost pulled off a marvellous victory against the Broncos.

Pity our coach's stubbornness is preventing an opportunity for Baptiste. Why the fark did we sign him for??? What, just in case Jake breaks a limb???
Ennis and buderus were talking about lichaa and how the people at cronulla knew he had issues with his left to right pass. It can be masked over in the 20s whereas in first grade that split second counts . Buderus said a hooker will throw over 120 passes in a match and it's their main task to hit the mark. I can't understand how a hooker if they have an issue can't fix it through repetition it's just technique and practice.

                  Thanks.
That's exactly the impression I got after reading it.

When Freddy came to the Roosters passing was one of his weaknesses. He worked on it and became one of the best spiral passes of the modern era.

That may be true but look where we are on the table. Last year we were more successful without our $million buys. . Two of League’s best surely would have us in much better position than 9th struggling to stay in the 8. I’m wondering if we only really got 1/3 Cronk meaning the other 2/3 is still at the Storm. Was his success due to Smith/Slater? They’re not missing him are they? Gordon won us a heap of games on goals. Can Teddy do that? No.

If Cronk is being given no chance, how did we do so well in past years? Friend has not gone downhill THAT much over the past few years IMO.

Or are you not just contending he is the only problem, but also that he is having a career worst year?

There seems to be one common denominator in all of this discussion. If we haven't appeared in a GF since 2013 with the likes of SBW, Maloney, Pearce, Friend, Jennings and those other good rep players, then the buck stops ......?

That’s fair enough too. I want this guy to succeed here because it means we will probably win a premiership.

That no try call on Casty against Penrith was a disgrace and if correctly given we would have had that game wrapped up but we played like crap that night. I honestly don’t think we could have beaten South’s in the gf. 2015 I am convinced we win the comp with a fully fit side we were on fire heading in to the finals series until that broncos game that dropped some key players. The only team who could have heartened us was Melbourne and they barely got through us in the first week.

History doesn’t say it but what makes sport enthralling is the context of the result. We didn’t win the comp in 2015 but it wasn’t because our best wasn’t good enough.

It all depends what you expected him to do in the first place. I consider Pearce to be a fairly structured halfback, but I'd honestly say he has more adlib footy in him than Cronk. That doesn't mean I think Pearce is better.

Cronk was surrounded by superstars for all those years. He just had to steer them around and make sure the right people had the ball at the right time. And he had that great chip kick play with Slater which led to a zillion trys. Cronk led a no frills, no mistakes, tough forward pack around the park. And they turned up to play EVERY week. Cronk was the perfect halfback, and a great halfback for that team.

So you throw an ultra structured player into an undisciplined footy team, with a pack that turns up sometimes...and believe it or not ....... this is what you get. Inconsistent results.
