The Cooper Cronk experiment isn’t working for the Roosters — can he change?

Two of League’s best surely would have us in much better position than 9th struggling to stay in the 8. I’m wondering if we only really got 1/3 Cronk meaning the other 2/3 is still at the Storm. Was his success due to Smith/Slater? They’re not missing him are they? Gordon won us a heap of games on goals. Can Teddy do that? No.

Watching other games i notice whether off a quick play the ball or not, the team with ball in hand has a lot more room to move. I put latrell in place of their left centre and see him running amok with space.
Are our opposition teams offside against us a lot of the time? Its hard to tell on tv but it seems the oppositions line speed is tremendous no mkatter who we play. Once (at least) on Anzac day we were kept back 12 metres in defense!

Finally people outside the Roosters are starting to see that Cronk is a problem. Unfortunately Nick is getting old and this could go down as his worst recruitment decision.
Nobody knows what they are supposed to do around Cronk. He doesn't go to the line, he doesn't run, he creates nothing and his not the greatest defender either.
But I am happy to be proved wrong and I hope I am!

Balls in his court then. You can’t play footy through a crystal ball however and so far, based on fact, no one can argue with the doubters/crackpots.
I actually think Gordon would have struggled this year with our very structured attack too, last year we were structured but definitely played more football than we have been exihibiting in the past 3 or 4 weeks. Gordon was a good fit with Pearce and Keary, not so sure he would have been the same with Cronk tbh.....
I also think Friend was ordinary last year but this year perhaps with a new half who is is adjusting to after playing his entire fg career with Pearce, he is now in career worst form so I do think he is more crap than last year and this hasn't helped....Last edited by 4 the all in brawl; 05-05-2018, 12:16 PM.Originally posted by Bondi Boy

While Teddy has played good he still isn’t anywhere near the asset Gordon was to us at 1/5th the price. Gordon won us a lot of games with kicks and got us 2nd place. Teddy’s useless in that regard. It’s becoming obvious we needed a new pack of forwards not a fullback or a half which have added nothing to the team because they weren’t the problem. The forwards were. We can’t compete in 2018 with the lazy forwards we have now which explains us being on 9th struggling to get into the top 8.“Soon will the present day order be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead”- (Baha’u’llah)

Any halfback plays well when the pack they play behind dominates. And our pack has hardly dominated.
This then flows into quick play the balls, which other teams are doing far better and our defence isn’t stopping.
Then if Jake gets the ball early, fires it out (in front) to Cooper/Keary with our attacking backline, we win more games.
And that starts tomorrow.
Will be good to watch the comparison of service/play of both teams hooker and half tomorrow. Korisau and DCE have Origin to play for..it’ll be interesting to see

Sensationalist garbage, Cronk is not the problem. He plays with guts and skill and has been let down by our forwards who can't offload or get quick play the balls, our lack of ball security overall and our hooker who can't create or take any pressure off him. Cronk was smashed all day by St George, because they knew he was our only playmaker. He got up and played on every time. The coach has a lot to answer for,
