Nah Mini was and is a legend for mine will always be our greatest ever Fullaback who overcame insurmountable odds to even get back on the field... Did he have his moments ( Mini moments ) yup he did, but the good by far out weighed the bad by far....

Jake well he isn't in the same league as Mini.

Yep let's not have an opinion Nathan Aboud let's just be happy Jake is the captain and always will be and never ask questions of his fitness to be the captain.

He gets paid a shit load of money to play football and we as members and fans who turn up to games help fund his wages. But as you say never question Jake's performance as a player and a leader as he is obviously the best choice to be a captain at the Roosters. I wished I knew this earlier.

Of course I would, he played and won a GF for us with a broken jaw. He also scored in that GF as well. Any player in that 2013 team that is still in the team I will also support no matter what......

Who are we to say that who belongs in the team on a week to week basis when it is not us out there doing the job? What you think the fans can do a better job????

Surely everyone is entitled to their opinion but obviously a lot of people on this forum have not played team sport and choose to criticize people for having an opinion and discharging insults regularly.

It's because of fans like us who think they can do Trent Robinson's & Jake Friend's jobs give us a bad reputation to the public because we boo our captain every time he gets the ball. Have a look at our social media pages & forums, disgraceful only after 6 games and you want players sacked and shown the door.

Statements & insults like the above Lydon proves that you would not be well suited in any professional organisation in this country or let alone the world. Even in the offices of the Sydney Roosters....... So before you continue cyber bullying people on this forum, maybe you should be asking yourself as to why your not out there on the field tackling each week, running from dummy half or even in the coaches box? I can help you with that, because you simply have no clue as do either any of us on how to do that job....

I will never understand the blind hatred for an individual. The Mini incident was poor form IMO. The way some are treating Jake isn't much better.

It doesn't matter whether someone has ever played team sport or not to have an opinion. TBH every football forum tears into players out of form so it's not a new phenomenon nor exclusive to the Roosters.

I have played a lot of team sports at a pretty high-level and still play touch at interstae and international masters level. It doesn't mean someone who hasn't played team sport opinion's is less than mine. Life has plenty of other experiences in which you work in a team and learn the dynamics. I could be a complete moron with an idiotic opinion anyway and someone who hasn't played sport could be way more valid.

I don't think Friend's criticism is completely unwarranted, he is not playing well and he is the club captain. By being in that role he will be scrutinised more heavily than a junior or fringe player. I don't think he should be dropped but I think he needs to play less mins.

BTW I defended Mini on here quite often in 2013 as though even his attacking play had slipped, he was the best person to lead the team and his positional play and organizing the defense from behind the line was without peer. He was also an extraordinarily calm and measured player. Jake it seems doesn't have those qualities, perhaps the way he throws himself into his defensive work makes it hard for him to be calm and come up with the ability to make the right decisions at times. Less time on the field ensures he isn't so gassed and having brain explosions. He needs to keep his game simple by that, running more from dummy half when the markers are lazy or not in position and working on improving his service to Cronk, Keary and the forwards. He should only kick from inside our 40m as he has quite a good long kick and has got the odd 40/20 in the past.

Oh yeah by the way, "Uncle Nick" he so call puts it, has been one of the longest club owners in the history of the game and is worth more money than the NRL put together quite possibly so for him to get this club where it is today must mean he doesn't make many business mistakes either. If he claims that Pearce & SKD are dead wood then who shall we place them with?????

I think the guys currently in those positions are doing a very good job and deserve to be where they are today.

Would be nice but I doubt it will happen, he may get the odd good game in once in a while but I think in the overall we have seen the best of Jake already... BTW I would love to eat the shit I have served him if it means he can turn it all around this season as a dummy half.
