That's twice now in 2 weeks. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt (again) after the Manly win when he kept harping on about best fans he's ever played infront of etc, but now that he's actually gone and said it without any doubts, stuff him. Having a pop at his most loyal fanbase? What a guy.

Last year an acquaintance i got talking to about the Roosters, telling me how much she loves the roosters, how excited she was about some event she'd just been to with all the players. She said so casually in passing that unfortunately her favourite player Mitch ignored all the fans he was the only one who didn't have a chat or sign anything, but she still had the best time.

Guess Thurston was right after all.

If I were a Knights fan his comment would inspire me and it would make me more certain that he was the man for the job. Very similar to how I'd feel if either Cronk or Tedesco had a similar light hearted dig at their former clubs. Come Sunday Pearce will rightfully become enemy number one here, and that's the way it should be. The bus back to Newcastle only has enough room for four points in the luggage compartment anyway.
I can understand that.. but i feel like there are much better ways to pump up knights fans then going for the low hanging fruit that every roosters hater brings up.

Low hanging fruit or not, it gets the fans going. Case in point: this thread.

          Cronk isn't a prick.

To see him laughing and smiling and getting rumbled by Keary after scoring, is enough. Actions speak louder than words.

Curious why Pearce won't have a "friendly little dig" at this opposite number though aren't you? That's the WWE lets get this party started banter that would rev things up. Since Pearce is gobbing off, nothing to say about the guy who took your spot ??? ? ? ? lol.

He has every right 2 troll us fans,

But not enough balls to directly go the team,

Under his guidance they have become winners

I picked them to beat us,

He's come close to motivating Robbo & Cords

              Which could be his downfall......

Chopsticks, I understand that Cronk is far more diplomatic than Pearce. I wouldn't expect him to publicly engage in such trivial banter. I have no idea about what your final paragraph means, or if it actually does mean something. I see that you are a friendly little poodle though.

I've edited it, i was talking to Pearce in that last part.

Yeah , i'll be wearing my poodle mask on Sunday. A big distraction for the Knights #7.

Hahaha ....... sorry then. Someone said earlier about wearing yellow (dresses). I think that would be hilarious. The dynamics of this game will be incredible. Pearce, SKD, Guerra, Watson and Moga all with a point to make, and their opposite numbers with a statement of reply. I predict a very lively encounter.

yeah those Newcastle Roosters will be charged and well up for this. Lucky for us, they are 2 / 2 so you'd think we are now on high alert. A few poodles dolled up in yellow would be a nice welcome back.

I think that Pearce may lose his direction in this game, possibly due to his emotions overruling his steely analytical playmaking brain. Guerra and SKD should be easily taken care of, but I think that an eye should be kept on Moga since he has looked good and strong so far this year.

On the contrary, given the abuse and disrespect he copped non stop from a big section of the Roosters fans, i think he's got every right to throw a few jabs.

To be honest, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I don't know why anyone would get 'pissed off' at this. It's a bit of harmless banter. I've been to Knights games at SFS where they have clearly outnumbered us. So he's not necessarily telling lies.
Let's just home we smash them.

Any one complaining about Pearce's comments should stop following the footy & go & buy a tutu & take up ballet.

I think that we should be able to beat them convincingly after the hype has died down. This is probably the most important game of the year for Newcastle. If they were to win I think they could ride on that confidence for the rest of the year. If Pearce has a brilliant year with outstanding games as a halfback, then questions need to be asked somewhere. Mickie Lane: I find this place to be the valley of thinskins.
