Tupou sh1ts me and has done for a long time. More of his usual empty-headed play was dished out against the tigpies. How can we all see this and the coaching staff not coach the weaknesses out of him?

He cost us the game - simple. Before he gave away the penalty on Thompson we were 5 minutes away from wrapping up a horrible game where we had defended well and attacked poorly. We should have bagged the 2 points and job done, while next week Cordner starts and Keary is back.

I love how its the wingers fault. The whole team other than Fergo showed very little.

The rooster are terrible favorites. Nothing has changed in that department it seems like a motivation/ attitude issue. Whos department is that to fix

You guys are very harsh on Toups.

He clearly got a clean double-handed tag on Thompson....

                  That shouldn't be too difficult.

At least he came back for Tonga and came up with the worst defence read in the tournament against England marking Jermaine McGillvray....that one got my kids extra presents under the the Xmas tree!
Anyhow lets look forward. What price will Marcel Montoya be to score a try next week? Anything over $2.20 and ill be all over it!!!
Tupou was injured against Manly in Rd 22

Pretty sure Tupou made Tedesco drop the ball with the line open.
                      ..it’ll be interesting to see

I don’t get the Toups hate. He was one of our best last year.

To be fair, if the ball doesn't hit Chee-Kam's head, Tupou probably scores down the other end. In saying that, how could he possibly fall for that nothing move Thompson puts on him.

Tupou made a good contested take early in the second half which lead to strong run where he found his front for a quick play the ball to Ferguson who made a 60 metre break that lead to a sin bin.

All started by a good strong take and run.

Our back 3, especially the big wingers get our sets started upfield. Eases the pressure on the pack so much

I agree and I understand we're the odd ones out. He kept putting his hand up yesterday despite a few errors, the effort was there. I also put him way down the list of who was our worst yesterday. I find it infinitely more frustrating that Mitchell doesn't put his hand up to do any hard carries, or that Napa plays 2 good games a year, or that Maubs has next to no effect as a starting back rower, Matterson being slow as **** with no offload, Friend stifling set after set, our lack of a plan B, our decision making when they had one in the bin etc etc.
I will cop the spray, I think Toops will hit back and have a strong year

It did seem like it was the Toops of 2016 a bit, very tentative in his running. Think he only won one or two rucks the whole game when carrying out of his own end.

Hopefully just some game 1 rust because as Johnny said he was one of our better players in the first half of 2017 before the injury.

Maybe the injury is still playing on his mind a bit? Can't imagine a groin injury is too much fun especially after he tore the scar tissue again last year.
