Whilst it might be the most over used cliche in Rugby League it's not something we've seen be a real focus of our teams and not something we've heard Robbo talk about it past seasons.

Because of that do we need to allow them more time to work through this new game plan?

New combinations are one thing, Keary seemed to seamlessly fit in last year. Round 1 against the Titans was as smooth of a debut as you'll ever see. But you can put that down to him coming in and fitting into a structure and game plan that was already well known & well rehearsed by the players around him.

The signing of Cronk as our primary playmaker and organiser signals a change in philosophy and that's surely something that will take far longer to develop. We've gone from being a team who played with a lot of flexibility in our ball movement and structure to a team who seemed very rigid in our structures & ball movement today.

1 game is far too small of a sample size to be demanding explanations of game plan IMO.

The majority on here wanted Cooper Cronk... now we need to show the patience in what we asked for. It's a huge changing of the guard. Clearly one we all probably underestimated.
I don’t think Cronk was responsible for our change in game plan. It was more to do with Keary being out. Cornish doesn’t have the pace or running game to execute the sweep plays that were so successful last year. We played with 2 organizing type half backs. One an International standard half and one a NSW Cup standard half.

And that should of been enough to win.
The merged team played well, and played it smart. Their defence was exceptional too.

When we needed to up the ante in attack , we couldn't.
The main cause of that has already been mentioned on here a thousand times since fulltime.

      Errors didn't help either.

We were outplayed and out coached.

Lets hope that was a massive kick in the arse.

        Maaaaaaaaaaaate.

We had 2 new players in the team today in Cronk and Tedesco who I have to say were rather disappointing in their performances for all the fanfare their signings generated - the rest have been in the club for many years and have played and trained together throughout that period - the side was chock full of rep players too - Tigers were far more enthusiastic and committed to the cause today than the Roosters were- Robbo's best and less game plan ( 5 hit ups and kick and limited expansion in attack) is not going to win many games as any NRL defence will be able to defend against it.- Robbo Seems to be coaching for survival by adapting a Hasler type game plan

I am not quite sure how Robbo could say they played well except for the errors as the bleeding errors/penalties mostly should not have occurred - 3 or 4 times penalised for incorrect play the balls for instance.

Joey Johns said it will take time for the team to gel - better not be too long as could be out of contention early on otherwise - the easy draw is not so easy especially when other teams will be up for games against the Roosters - coaches will be reviewing the way the Tigers played against us as possibly a blue print if Robbo is sticking to this Hasler type game plan he has - be like shelling peas in defence for the opposition.

Only thing I saw all game
Cos we played inside our own half and discipline killed us anytime we were close to getting an attacking play on.
                This is league
                ..it’ll be interesting to see

Robbos biggest problem is his blind loyalty to his captain and dummy half.
                    Bingo!

Yep Eddie...that loyalty is THE problem.

Must have pics of Nick in compromising positions to get the unwavering support from the club he has.

Tigers completion rate was near perfection .Thats what won it for them.
we had 3 or 4 good chances to put them away in first half and maybe two only in second.
Now first big error was going for penalty goal in first half with brooks gone .Second big mistake was not going for the goal at 8-4 ...Though we needed to safe guard the lead .Ultimately that missed chance was our downfall.Looked like Cronk wanted the shot and jake didnt -bad call.

Time will tell but I don't think that's the case at all, I think there was clearly a conscious decision not to spread the ball or run set plays until we were in good ball zone. Last year we were very expansive with our attack regardless of where we were on the field.

I thought it was most telling our yardage sets, something Luke Keary has no part to play in.
