It's the lack of penalties that the chooks receive.

There were several games last year where we only got 2 or 3 penalties. We were well behind the second last team in terms of penalties received.

Against Newcastle in round 7 we only receive 1 penalty. From memory it was for an accidental offside?

    What a joke.

Season stats aren't very important. What is more important is those stats against perhaps the other top 4 or top 8 sides. Who cares if JWH or Napa clock up great stats against the Tigers, Knights or Souths. How do they go against the other top packs is what matters.

The important stats are very different. They are more about effectiveness, winning the ruck, Kick chase, failure to kick chase and not the number of tackles but the number of won and lost tackles

          there is a big difference
Perhaps then if you titled the thread “is Robbo capable of change” you might have got the responses you’re after.

No doubt those are all important statistics but players who have the ability to make a large number of tackles also have value in the game. You shouldn't just dismiss number of tackles made.

If the team has a good run with injury, and the Roosters don't make the GF, he could be gone.

Well did Robbo do a Bachelors degree after his Year 12 certificate? This is a very broad thread title.

You've got to acknowledge that here's clearly been some level of 'improvement' in reducing our penalties conceded.

Certain players and probably more importantly certain positions are expected to make a lot of tackles. Its a fact that hookers make the most because of where they are on the field and because they tend not to hit as hard.
Making lots of tackles is a good think especially when you don't miss many, but the big difference is the effectiveness of the tackles. Make 50 tackles but in 40 the opposition gets a quick play the ball, you are going to lose

                          Playing careerEdit

A former St Gregory's student,[3] Robinson played 3 games from the bench for the Wests Tigers in 2000 & 2001. He was the first player to ever make his first grade debut with Wests Tigers without previously having played with another team. In 2002 he joined the Brian Smith-coached Parramatta Eels, playing in a solitary game. Coaching careerEdit

After a playing stint with Toulouse Olympique, Robinson succeeded Justin Morgan as coach in 2005.[4] He was assistant coach with the Newcastle Knights for 3 years before seeking a release to join Smith at Sydney Roosters.[5] Robinson was the assistant coach in charge of defence in the Roosters' run to the Grand Final in 2010.[6]Catalans DragonsEdit

At the end of the 2010 season, French-speaking Robinson took over from Kevin Walters as coach at Catalans Dragons.[7]Sydney RoostersEdit

On 7 September 2012 it was announced that Robinson had been appointed as Head Coach of the Sydney Roosters for a three-year term, starting in 2013.[8] At 35 years old, he was the youngest coach in the NRL.[9][10] He became only the 2nd rookie NRL coach to claim a minor premiership after the Roosters defeated the Rabbitohs in round 26 of 2013. He claimed the Coach of the Year at the 2013 Dally M Awards, becoming the youngest ever winner and only the second coach in NRL history and just the sixth since the Dally M awards started in 1980 to be named the league's best coach in his first season.[11] He capped this historic season by leading his team to the Premiership title and to the Grand Final victory, becoming only the sixth rookie coach Premiership winner.[12] At the end of the 2013 season he received the Rugby League International Federation's coach of the year award.[13] He also led the Roosters to minor premierships in 2014 and 2015.

On 26 April 2016, the Roosters were fined $40,000 following the sides loss to St George in their annual Anzac Day clash, $20,000 for Robinson approaching referee Ben Cummins in the players tunnel, and another $20,000 for comments that he made about the horrible refereeing during the game.

                            history would say...no.

he seems popular and articulate.....but can he be polarising and silent?
I think he needs a better assistant coach next to him.
Fitzy and Taylor don't seem to be tacticians.

Nice guys and so is Matt.

I think Taylor has a good footy brain. Unfortunately he's a bit of a Brian Smith.
