The first thread posted on here that the Chooks were after Cronk had me post that I would sinbin myself from the Chookpen for a month if he signed up for the Roosters & he did. So I am now going to post that I will change my aviator & sinbin myself for 2 months if the Chooks sign Folau.

And yeah his positional play in defence is ok. As you said Brain it's technique. The tackle he missed on Frank Winterstein against Manly spelt the end of his season in first grade. He was in a good position to make the tackle, just got steamrolled. Robbo had no confidence in him after that.

The Manly game was his worst for sure. He was improving his defence by moving up quickly and cutting down the 'think' time for his opponents. His work on Tedesco when we played the Tigers was clearly showing that. Manly decided to use Wintertsein and he put Manu on his backside. Robbo left him on but the kid's confidence was shot. Manly picked up on it and aimed more attack his way plus put kicks in behind him. I remember him being rag-dolled at one point in retrieving a kick. Instead of hitting the ground quickly he stood and gifted the Manly defence which came in numbers.

After that game Robbo realised that he needed time back at Wyong to rebuild confidence. He certainly has the talent and showed that again in the grand final. Rival teams crowded him last year and moved up very quickly to stifle his step. In time he will develop a better fend and position himself better. Cronk should really help there instead of those flat passes he often received. But head on defence has always been an issue. Joey's chasing down Bevan French in 2016 though and saving a certain try has been his best defensive effort. I hope we keep him - great talent.

Now that Flash has gone to the tits, i'd prefer Latrell and Manu in the centres. Hopefully Manu is in line for a start ahead of Fergo and Recce

I hope you'r right, I'm not so sure about Manu though. He is not only bad at reading the attack in defense, he also has extremely poor technique. If he remains the turnstile he was last year he won't last long in firsts

SKD lasted a few years and he was hopeless in defence and couldn't catch a cold. Manu has shown more in the early part of his career compared to dufus at the same age.
