im pretty sure last year they had upto near a mil in the salary cap paying people that dont play anymore, like brett stewart and steve matai, think some of those might be decreasing plus blake green is off as well as the increse in the cap

Green being announced as leaving on the same day as Pearce was pure co-incidence. The reason they finally released him was because he threatened to run dead if they didn't. They have salary cap issues galore related to third parties.

About a month ago BuzzRoth layed out the value of the Roosters player contracts. If he was on the money then some serious dollars need to be spent keeping what we have. It looked like SST, Topou, Maubs, Latrel Liu and maybe a couple of others are way under market value. Some of the hard workers must wonder why some players are on next tier of money but are not putting in the same effort. Put this together with a new contract for Keary and perhaps one big bopper (yep Walmsley would be fine), then that would be about it.

The huge upside is if this is done new we could retain the same team for a number of years; consecutive premierships perhaps. Food for thought.

I suppose the Sharks were soulless in buying their Premiership last year. And the Cowboys soulless in buying Granville and Coote to buy their Premiership.

Winning the 2013 Premiership sucked. It just tasted hollow because it was so soulless. I would have much rather retained Anasta and not signed SBW.

Do you honestly think Paulo is better than Napa?
Napa didnt have the best season this year & the year before Guerra didnt have the best season but played good footy again this season & Im predicting Napa will have a better season next year.
Paulo is an overweight lazy would be bikie. He is not the answer.
Agnatius Pasi who was playing for the Gold Coast would be much better value than Paulo.
