Just out of curiosity if Braith Anasta was the greatest cap burglar the Roosters ever had, does Pearce come a close second? He wouldn't have won a comp if SBW didn't play half for him.
I wouldn't call him a Cap Burglar but rather a player that the club had high hopes on that didn't quite rise to the level's that was hoped as well as that his off field issues didn't help his cause.. On Braith the last couple of years soured what was a fine first grade career, he was never as good as Freddy and he never said he was but he was a great Club Captain who carried our side during some lean years he just stayed on 2 years too long...
Manly fans are pumped to be getting Mitchell, poor bastards haha
Can't see how he and DCE gel together
I actually think they will go ok.. DCE is able to play a little more off the cuff so Pearce will take on Blake Green's role. However Cronk and Keary will be mouth watering.

Yeh maybe you’re right mate, interesting times for them..
Cronk and Keary will be immense, wow!!!
Love ya Uncle Nick
It was so bleedin obvious the moment he was seen leaving Robbo's house like a deer in headlights. I've got nothing against Pearce and he's been a good servant, but boy has Cronk shown him up now off-the-field as well in the brains department. Cooper swooped in, knowing full well the business contacts and the possibilities with the club beyond on-field career... and yet Pearce flees the coop and reacts based on personal feelings and probably feeling disgruntled... I get that he's earned the right to want to be in the starting lineup and all that.. but in my opinion what they've both just gone and done - Cooper shrewd planner, Mitch emotional and reactionary - sort of sums up why and how they operate.

I don't blame Pearce for showing emotion, I can blame him for lot's of other stuff however. No doubt though the club knew a long way out that Pearce was not the player or person they had hoped him to be and had to cut him loose. As the highest paid player, he had to show both on and off the field that he was a leader and he could do neither. Why so many people do not get this, I will never know. Cronk will lead the players on and off the field. Pearce will lead them to the nearest bar.
Im glad that there is a bit of roon fir the next juniorjunior lam to get a break snd learn
and to secure Keary for the next 3 years and hopefully add some front row quality or depth. You cannot have an $800K a season player sitting on the bench. I know Robbo has big hopes for Victor Radley and expect he will get first crack at Watto's old spot.
The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Mitchell Pearce has been granted a release from the remaining two years of his contract with the Club, with immediate effect.
“Mitchell has been a big part of the Sydney Roosters Club for more than a decade. He’s played 11 seasons of NRL and is among the most-capped players in our Club’s history,” said Sydney Roosters Chairman, Mr Nick Politis AM.
“We all love Pearcey – he has developed very strong relationships with a number of people at the Club and we have been through a lot together. While it would have been great to see him continue to add to his legacy at the Roosters, we respect his decision.
“Mitchell will always be a Rooster, and he leaves with our sincerest thanks and very best wishes,” added Mr Politis AM.
Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson echoed the sentiments of Mr Politis AM and thanked Pearce for his contribution to the side.
“We’ve been through a lot and I have a lot of respect for Junior both as a footballer and as a man,” said Robinson.
“I’d personally like to thank Pearcey for the role he’s played at the Roosters. He’s a good person who will always have many friends at the Club and I know I speak on behalf of everyone in wishing him all the very best,” he added.
“Obviously, this hasn’t been an easy decision for me to come to, but I feel that it’s the right one,” said Pearce.
“I’ve been with the Roosters since I was 17 and have grown into a man here. I’ve made a lot of close friends at the Club, and I’ve always been proud to wear the Roosters jersey. The Roosters Club and people there will always mean a lot to me, but I’m looking forward to the opportunity and challenge joining a new club will bring, while continuing to push myself to be the best halfback I can be. Now that I’ve made this decision, hopefully I’ll have the rest of my future sorted over the next few weeks,” he added.
