The two major things holding him back at fullback is his lack of speed and shocking defence.

I reckon the shocking defence of our forwards is a more a problem than Tanseys.

The opposition are gifted a right of passage right through the middle of the ruck without a finger being laid on them, so why expect the fullback to pull off the miracle try saver?? If he manages to slow him down he's doing better than the blokes upfield.

Any bloke we put at the back at the moment is on a hiding to nothing, because our lazy arsed forwards are little more than oversized speed bumps.

Whilst the club is consistently offloading players who actually give a shyte about the colours they wear, claiming 'salary cap pressure', when an expensive overrated import comes onto the market there's magically money in the salary cap bank that doesn't appear to be on offer to other players.

Little wonder some lesser paid players get pissed off and take the first available opportunity out of the place.

I had a massive rant a week or two ago about it. Key example is Mason and O'Meley in, Shillington and Tupou out.

It is more the principle that we lose good, honest, hard-working players who provide value for money as well as being players who have made their NRL debut for us, yet we keep big-name imports that underperform on a regular basis.
Mack makes a good point. But for me the bottom line is as hard as this kid tried he is no loss to us. If Mini is ever fit he will start at fullback. When he isn't we have IMO very good back up in Perrett. Tansey is a solid utility player at NRL level but still has alot to learn.

Fitzy, Tansey was only ever going to improve. You have to remember it's a massive leap from SuperLeague to NRL and most blokes would take a while to settle in to the speed of the game over here.

Also, the bloke has only played, what, 6 games for us, so it's not as if he's totally familiar with the players.

As for Mini, he is off contract and I'm hoping he's not re-signed, as he just doesn't take the field often enough to be of any value.

Which leaves us with Perrett at FB as of next year. And I'm still not convinced he's up to it on a fulltime basis. Anyone who reckons Tansey is slow off the mark, take a look at Sam, he takes an age to turn and run. And he's also suspect under the high ball, espec when he's in competition with a taller player.

I can understand Jordan taking the money Hull is offering at the moment, he's not earning that much over here. And he can always return to the NRL in a few years, he's only 22. I reckon he provides good utility value, so I'd take him back any time.

Fullback seems to be his best position from what ive seen, he runs the ball back strongly and is always lurking in the middle of the field looking for an offload.

Unlike some fans here that rate red headed forwards that have done nothing for us for 5 years over this kid, I think Tansey has something to offer. he is still young but he has teh right moves and could become a good player in time. Id have resigned him for another season to see what he could produce, given we dont have centres or good wingers at the momnet, Id prioritise Tansey over back rowers that have done **** all for us in 5 years.
thanks for the reply, hope the rest of the season goes well for you guys

Agreed, as I said Tansey still has alot to learn. I mean the guy was playing in 2nd grade in the ESL, he would of improved and could of filled a role as a utility player. But the fact is he is no great loss to us. We have better players then him.

On current form, the claim that we have better players than him is debatable.

Some have more talent, but that doesn't always equate to better performances.

I'd rather a lesser talented player that puts in the effort week after week, rather than a talented loafer just going through the motions.

So basically he's not worth keeping!

                      Exactly we won't miss him.

Reading the papers today it said that Michaels could be forced out of brisbane. I think he is a decent centre/winger option we could go after.
