Is the cap going up after next year? Are we prepared to move players on to accommodate Chrichton? With Cronk playing for only two years can we not backend a deal after freeing up $1M from 2020? If Pearce does leave doesn't that leave us with $800K that we can front load some contracts?

If he wants to come to us I am sure there are ways to get him here.

don't want to get into back ending contracts as that's how the dogs and some others have got into trouble trying to being cap compliant as a result. cannot keep buying outside need to fast track lower graders/juniors to NRL standard - we don't want a Packer don't worry about juniors/developing players we will just buy players mentality coming back /been known as the transit lounge again Or by the Peter Peters quote that Easts would sign the magna carter if they could.

If Pearce ask's for a release then Cronk only cost's us 200k more than he, a bargain to be sure in comparison. As well as that it opens up a halves spot for O'Sullivan or Lam (If they are good enough) when Cronk goes. Do you honestly think Pearce would roll over for either of them....No

PeeGee, we have been ignoring the lack of quality Prop rotation ( or the anointed ones haven't stepped up to the plate) for years now the LOD , MOA types to harden the middle are the missing parts to the puzzle.

Our Pack has been reputedly one of the best in the Comp but have been found wanting in crucial periods.

Exactly. In 3 games against Manly (incl trial) they smashed us in the middle, and in many other games Pearce was forced to kick between the two 40m lines constantly, where our opposition would reach our 20m.

Napa is a defensive forward - he is slow and sometimes lazy and has always been, JWH has not been the same since his ACL, SST has admitted that he is still has the ACL on his mind whilst playing, LIU is up and down, Matto / TETS / Maubs can only do so much. We've lost Guerra and Evans. So in come Toups ad Fergo to cart the ball up - and errors ensue. I'm sure Teddy will be needed also ala RTS, Maybe Friend might have the odd dart from dummy half once in a while. Also, we have zero depth in the meter eating department.

Cooper will be on a hiding to nothing if our go forward is not addressed.

Have a look at the size/speed of the packs/benches of Storm, Parra, Manwee, Dragons, Canberra, Cowbows, Broncos, Sharks, Panfas etc. Also, next year we will have different looking / improved Tigers, Knights, Dogs.

Gees some of you are getting carried away with what we would have to pay for Crichton. $1M really?
He is 21 and has never played a rep game yet you've priced him as much as Taumalolo.
If he and SST were on the open market today I would think SST would command higher. He has certainly achieved more and being compared to Taumalolo at times.
I would have a guess and say Crichton could ask between $500K-$600K. If he is lucky maybe $700K and that is not including how much of that would be TPA.
As for Cronk being on $1M. How much of that would be TPA?
