Wiliie Mason was one of the worst signings in the clubs history. He caused more disruption than i care to remember when he was with us.Now hes giving politis advice about how to run the club. You wouldn't ask willie the time of day let alone how to run a football club.Gave me a laugh anyway.

But I think you're missing the point if you think people are cancelling over one player. It's the thought process and integrity of the decision that most (including myself) have an issue with, whether it affected 10 players or 1 is kind of irrelevant.
I wasn't a fan of the way the club dealt with the SKD axing, he deserved so much better as a farewell regardless of what he did & Mitchell Pearce deserves so much better too.
At the end of the day the only voice fans really have is with their money so if there's people passionate enough about the issue then good luck to them trying to get their voice heard.
I can't relate as I've never been mad enough to want to cancel my membership but I can certainly empathise.
As for SKD he was and is a club legend. However the club went out of its way to support him before and during in his court case and I think the Carter incident was disrespectful after that support. Junior has constantly been looked after and for half the incidents we read about there's quite a few that get covered up.
Even the great Jack Gibson acknowledge that premierships are won from the front office and we have a board that have given the fans consistently competitive teams in a crowded Sydney market. I think we have to put some faith in their decisions, knowing that they probably know a lot more than the average fan as to what's happening on and off the field.
Not too many batted an eyelid when Guerra was shown the door after seven years. Instead the talk was of recruiting Angus Crichton when and if he becomes available. No talk of a player revolt and Guerra thanked the club for the friendships formed and good times had. Whether Mitchell adopts that attitude who knows. But he's had a good run and it cuts both ways.

we have always been seen as one of the least liked and least loyal clubs in the nrl, there is a reason why... it’s true.
You say it's true that we're the least loyal club but all the stats say otherwise when you look at number of one club players, games played at the club and number of players over certain milestones and start to compare them to other clubs. You're talking about a time from not that long ago but no relevant to the present squad of players.
The salary cap doesn't allow you to buy 'the best players on the market every couple of years' so even if I wanted to entertain that non-reality it's irrelevant.
I thought we learnt our lessons in the past, our premierships have always come from the right mix of a good strong core group of loyal players & some strong recruitment. We had both in 2002 and both in 2013.
It's not even about being a recruitment club or a development club, it's just about finding the right balance and having some moral fibre as a club.

Graham Murray was sacked after a grand final and a semi appearance, Stuart was shafted by us going behind his back trying to sign Bennett after delivering a GF and two other GF losses, club legend Fittler wasn’t told that smith had been signed.
Now with pearce and friend being told they can shop around, probably shows how loyal our club be is prepared to be when striving for success.

Now Pearce & Friend are not 19 anymore and it's hard to expect them to learn a new way to better manage the games. How long are management & fans prepared to wait for another title oR at least a shot in a GF? Many may have forgotten but at the start of the season, club captains were asked who would be favourite to win the title and we were chosen #1 as the main contender, and that's after coming 2nd last, so this thing that we 'over achieved' this year is BS. We had the squad to even get to the grand final, comfortably... Robbo may have stuffed up with the interchange but on the field, the 'managers, organisers', whatever you want to call them really lacked the ability to control many games, thus winning many by 6 and under. To say that it will improve next year is unrealistic because many of the things we saw and didn't like has been happening for many seasons...
The club has been very good to their players like Jnr, Friend, SKD, Fergo...But at the end of the day results that are appropriate to the talent available is also required. Cold or just realistic? Thank goodness that unlike other clubs that are stuck with their situation, Politis and co are willing & able to change things even when sometimes it doesn't work. Go to other teams forums for a laugh and you'll see the usual Roosters hate BUT most of all the constant complaints that their club hasn't recruited anyone special for next season. They envy us 'and it sure feels fine...'Last edited by ROC181; 10-27-2017, 07:49 AM.

Heard this non sense all before.....
When Mason signed up, when SBW signed up and when we signed Blake Ferguson.
Never in hell will I ever cancel my membership and if people threaten to do so then please do it...... The club & team doesn't need your negativity as it seems like alot of them need some growing up to do. I couldn't care less what the media says cause end of the day I cheer loud and proud and passionate in the Chook Pen no matter who takes the field.......
