Can't believe some of the stuff written on here! We are not a charity. Reading between the lines, it looks like a few players have too much of a say in things. Great if you are winning trophies, but no so good if the said players turn up to the crunch matches and don't lead, inspire or perform themselves. That's the deal here really. I don't care if Cronk doesn't score more tries, make more tackles or whatever compared to someone like Pearce. But I do care if someone lets down the club or has a p*ss poor attitude. We certainly won't get the chance to ever accuse our new halfback of that.

If Pearce played out the rest of his career for us, and racked up a thousand games, are we supposed to put him on a pedestal..

He owes the fans as far as I'm concerned.
So sick of copping excuses for his lack of nerves when it matters.
No player, in our clubs history, has ever held us to ransom.

To think a 200 gamer, who has been given every break in the world could think this way??????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????

I have 18 or so players at NRL standard if we retain all these players that is but below these it is a group of inexperienced NRL players to make up the 36 player squad - 30 NRL and 6 Development players- Instead of signing Cronk they need to address the lack of depth in a range of areas- Front row and Centre and goal kicking - why I would looking at signing Joey Leilua(centre) if released by the Raiders for next season (2018) and Ethan Lowe- backrower and NRL standard goal kicker-Fitzy type of player for 2019 - both started their career with the Chooks too.

Sterlo even said the Roosters needed to add depth in other positions rather than sign Cronk - That signing if it occurs could cause more problems within the club than needed
        I agree.
We seem to be throwing all our eggs in the one basket. In my opinion this could be a recipe for disaster. Is an aging Cronk really worth it? It could prove to be a master stroke but I fear it will be the opposite.

I can’t understand those who think we have been a failure of s. Luv with Pearce in the side or that we have only premiership with him and so on...

i think we have been more successful as a club with Pearce in the side than we were with Freddy. Now I’m not saying he’s a Freddy, no way, but Freddy only won 1 premiership with us as well.

I don't know what the big deal is if he leaves he leaves he's just a player I have been following the Chooks since I was a child a hell of alot longer than Pearce has been in it and will continue long after he is gone. Personally I think the Cronk signing if we get him will be a very good one as we will finally have a half who can get us repeat sets and more than likely not give the opposition the dreaded 7 tackles from the 20.
Jeez those kill us as a team.

The new generation of media savvy players is not good.
Pearce is actually way too late to join that club..................................obviously.

Hell of a nerve to assume he's earned the right to be consulted over club desecions.

Makes me, as a long term fan............................to question that

The difference is we won the comp BECAUSE of Freddy, and we won the comp IN SPITE of Pearse. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

                      Chalk and cheese here mate.

Freddy actually won us that game, when the 2002 GF was in the balance Fittler stood up, called for the ball and produced the sweetest 40/20 kick in history which was vital to us winning that title. Pearce does not have this in his game. Comparing these two is a crime in Rooster folklore.

I have nothing against Mitch, and would rather see Nug make way for Cronk, but a change of club just may do jnr jnr a world of good.
                      Is that the full story,
                      or is your news limited?

not comparing at all. They played in two different positions but you can't say the past 10 years have been a failure because of one player just like you can't say 10 years were successful under Freddy. What's rediculous is being disrespectful to the other players busting their guts week in week out. It's not a one man show just as bringing one man in Cronk may not guarantee us anything except the real possibility of destabilization in an already solid unit good enough to finish second last year. Many clubs would have viewed that result rather successful off the back of 2016. Now before you go blaming one player for 2016, there's was more to it than the unjust treatment of Pearce that year.

Fact is, we won only 1 comp with Freddy, if it was because of him, what happened to the rest of them?

I love Freddy and am not taking anything away from him but in the Roosters colours, he and Pearce have one premiership a piece.

The club knew he wouldn't stay. And why would he i certainly wouldnt' if it was me..He will probably get more coin elsewhere in any case.We will see how this affects the playing group but at the end of the day they are professionals and the club is paying their wages. This signing has to work for robbo because if it does backfire i reckon his time at the roosters is over as well.No player is bigger than the club but when you have a very popular long serving player that gets the boot it can be disruptive.Like i said we will see how it pans out hopefully ok but mabye not.

They both had excellent opportunities and both had excellent cattle around them and they both have one a piece at the Roosters.

You may may just get that Maccas coffee but I'm sure, like me, you can't afford a tower in Manhatton or a golf course or two.

Golf and real estate are both over-rated.
Surviving the night and celebrating with a cuppa are not to taken for granted.

Goodnight all, and may your god go with you.
