  • Rothfield Savages Robbo

Yo he make some very good points you know what Im sayin? Winger for 10 mins, Latrell on wing. WTF Robbo??

COACH Trent Robinson is under the pump at the Sydney Roosters.

Senior players are not happy about the lack of communication over the moves to sign Cooper Cronk.
Especially as it threatens the career of the very popular Mitchell Pearce or even hooker Jake Friend.
If you’re wondering why the Roosters bombed out against the Cowboys in their semi-final, I’d be blaming the coach more than the halfback.

Could Cronk upset the apple cart for Roosters coach Trent Robinson? (Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)
Front-rowers Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Dylan Napa both struggled.

The forward rotation was out of whack because Robinson picked a winger, Daniel Tupou, and a utility, Connor Watson, on the bench instead of an extra middle forward.

It’s unheard of in semi-final football with the extra pace and power of the games. And to play their most dangerous outside back, Latrell Mitchell, on the wing was ridiculous.

Obviously the senior players can’t speak publicly at this stage.

They have nothing against Cronk as a player or a person. It’s just that they’ve been kept in the dark for too long.

Rest assured they are not happy.

Rest assured a lot of Roosters supporters aren't happy either. That loss in the prelim against the cows was unforgivable and the coach played his part in that abysmal failure. However, the players themselves, especially some of the senior ones, also contributed to the loss.

It was these same sooks ( Pearce and Friend ) that wanted Hastings gone, we was liked by most others just not these 2 princesses, SKD was much more loved and respected by his peers in the team, Rothfield is a ****stick and an oxygen thief but he is no dummy, he knows the Sharks are now in the mix, so why not stir the pot, male Cronk feel he is unwelcome at the club, he will be ostrocised blah blah blah, Im guessing he made a call to Pearce or Friend or manager and it went a little like this

PR- HI its buzz can i have a chat
            MP/JF/Manager - hmmmm ok?
PR- what are your thoughts on CRonk coming
MP/JF/Manager- AHH is he, we have not spoken to him or the club, thats Nicks and Robbos call
PR- would you be happy if he came and you had to leave or change positions?
MP/JF- we will see what happens
PR- So it sounds like your not happy then.
            MP/JF - hags up phone

Robbo does have alot to answer for, he is trying to correct his undying faith in a couple of players by signing Cronk

He probably is right Jack - but the point is it is a poorly veiled attempt to stir the pot , with his beloved Sharks the primary recipient of any collateral damage either way.

Did the Sharks handle the Maloney/ Cronk issue any better and how will this go down now that they are again in the fray ??

I thought Pearce lost us the Prelim

Buzz is spot on. To have Tupou on the bench instead of a middle forward was just plain ridiculous and probably a lack of respect for the cowboys pack.
And as I've posted a zillion times, the insipid performance of Napa and JWH was what lost us the game. Napa in particular.

Not a big fan of Buzz myself either but he has busted open important stories about us that deserve an airing, where no other journo has dared to tread.

                      (1) the damning penalty stats over a decade or more and
                      (2) the salary cap myth around us.

If ever he dares put the slipper in, some penners cry fowl and play the sharks vested interest card. Dunno bout that.

I’d say Rothfield got that garbage straight from the chookpen. It reads like it was written by some chookpen idiot

Why deny the truth? Like him or loath him, Rothfield has said what most of us thought, and whilst I thought the players had a lot to answer for the pathetic prelim, TR also contributed heavily by selection Topps on the bench. In fact most fans were mystefied during the season when TR would pick Watson on the bench and give him ZERO minutes!
Personally I would've prefered keeping Watson and signed up a toiling hard working prop, that would take hit up after hit up, and hurt in tackles.

This is the chookpen not the ostrich pen so you can stick your head in the sand. If the truth hurts then don't read it and what Rothfield said was correct.
