The Pressure will be on Robbo for sure to deliver a premiership especially and not only if they sign Cronk - be no excuses then for his failures in team selections/game plans /eradicating the same errors week in week out by players he sticks with and development of players to NRL standard - Green and Bellamy are some of the coaches off contract after 2018 if a change is needed.

      I believe Napa was injured.
Seems to me our team thought it was just going to run out on the field, win the game and march into the Grand Final...without competing for every set, every move/run/play...mistake free.

Many players made mistakes...as did Robbo.

Was Robbo drunk as his bench selections were irrational, not just a slight mistake but an irrational decision that even one of us half drunk wouldn’t have made? . A rational mind could not have made decisions to play injured players on the bench in a PF depriving the team of fresh replacements. Something was way out of wack. Somethings not right here. There’s much more to this than the club’s letting on. Now a grab for Cronk which is sure to create bad blood for next season or was there already bad blood before the final?

To add. What kind of a coach sends out his team in a preliminary final without fresh bench backups? Isn’t he aware of the pace of a final and how players tire more quickly? I say there was bad blood and Robbo wasn’t exactly supporting his team by not having uninjured fresh replacements. I say he knew full well what the consequences would be of not having a proper bench otherwise he’s a complete idiot and none of you honestly believe that. So what’s with him throwing the final by placing us in an unwinnable position?

Was Robbo ever questioned by the media regarding his bench selections after the match? At the press conference?

Jack, In the article which anchored this thread, Buzz has correctly addressed a number of issues which have and had already been dissected and discussed ad nauseum on the Chook pen since that fateful game with the Cows, maybe the Chookpen is where he gets his inspiration for these other topics as well.

Whether Buzz is right or wrong in the article can be up for debate , but the fact that he has an ulterior motive behind his "headline acts" can never be in doubt.

Remember Todd Carney was pursued relentlessly by Buzz in the Media , until he was released and left for, guess where ?

Buzz is in the business of controversy , as this sells papers and he is successful at that .

BB Boy, In the replay it does appear as though Nappa takes a head knock and does go missing from then on. Question is why wasn't it detected early and a HIA carried out.

Trent is starting to remind me of Brian Smith (help!) in that he tries to manage games/seasons, which has merit.
But then, at the end of the year, where the players are worn out and it's all on the line, he seems to lack the motivational message or rev up that other coaches such as Gus/Bellamy seem to have. His big game preparation needs plenty of work.
It's a quality that you see in Thurston, Slater and Smith as well. Does Cronk have it in him or is he just ice cold in the pressure situations? I'm not sure Mitch Pearce does. Jimmy Maloney seems to.
Look, I reckon we've had a solid few years under Trent but there's glaring deficiencies that need addressing if we are to prosper under his guidance. Namely, too technical and cute instead of playing what's in front with who we got.
                  ..it’ll be interesting to see

Probably but not well enough. He's a favourite of the journos. People can bag Ch 9 all they want but Freddy questions the selections, such as no Joe Manu. Or Gus querying Cornish on the bench during Origin 1.
Joey wouldn't bite the hand that feeds though.

Im starting to question super coach robbo. His tactics last year were laughable and his handling of this cronk saga is amateurish not to mention his choice of assistant coach. If we get cronk and dont win the comp hes out the door . So the pressure is all on robbo and i think its starting to show tbh.

Because we only had toops on the bench to replace him.

You'd be struggling to find much doing inside Napa's head, head knock or not.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Sorry about this fellow penners but I cannot move on. Couldn't give a shyte about the World Cup either.

I really hope that there has been an internal inquiry conducted into the Cowboys PF debacle. Everything from the bench choices to the performance. I don't know about you guys but I cant shake the feelings of utter disgust and embarrassment about everything to do with that performance.

Some are saying, no worries, saved us from a flogging in the GF. Who the Fark knows that for sure? Nobody.

Furthermore, we don't seem to have addressed our glaring shortcomings in 2017 since that game. 1. Struggled with go-forward and PROP depth all year, 2. Struggled with our centers all year, especially defensive reads and one on one tackling. To the point that we had 2nd rowers as centers for the crunch time of the year. WHO HAVE WE BOUGHT ????

All we have now is a shyte fight on our hands over Crock of Cronk. This will undoubtedly lead to team disharmony, whether we get him or not, AND I can't see Cronk fixing our biggest weaknesses from this year stated above. Also due to the World cup, our preseason will be shyte. Thats a given.

I'd love to know what you guys are thinking right now. Have you moved on?

If there was such an inquiry after the PF, it's not for us to know. No reason...
Cronk will inspire more than what 1 or 2 players might have an issue. Cronk is a winner. Players want to win. They can still be friends with Pearce, Friend or SKD or any other players anytime they want but what harmony is there when players are not confident of others in their team especially when they are supposed to be the organisers? In a team environment, those that consistently don't perform causes far more angst between team members than a new high performing member.

I've moved on cause theres no more games...
