Still get a Sunday paper delivered too- I think they have to offer this service so it wont stop maybe?
As a kid/teenager we used to get both papers every day home delivered morning and afternoon ( 4 a day during weekdays- 2 morning and 2 afternoon- Saturday and Sunday one of each) - I remember also that our milk man was also our bread delivery man at home too each day- early morning for milk and around lunch time for bread. Until 2012 we used to have milk delivered too but due to cheaper milk in supermarkets the bloke stopped the home delivery as many customers stopped the service so it wasn't worth his while to continue it.
The Dunny can man too - hope he wasn't our milk and bread man though :-) - that dunny can man job was a job no one would aspire too I suggest- we were a family of 11 (2 parents and 9 kids) so the dunny can man came more often each week until the sewerage was put on- outside toilet and outside our house was the bus stop so people could see anyone entering the outside toilet- would get full quickly too -so a matter of avoiding the splash back if you know what I mean :-)- Don't know how they could carry these cans- sometimes there was a spill from the cans as well as they were carrying them from the outside dunny to the truck.
We still have the permanent pantry fridge too and it's still working ( a full size fridge not like the one on the youtube clip-below- I remember we had this service in the mid1970`s) - home delivery of all types of foods you could store in the fridge - a supermarket as close as your freezer I remember from their add.- Used to go into Sydney/Parramatta/Liverpool still -David Jones and buy food as well - Have Meat pie/ Chips/Gravy/Veggies and desert etc treats for lunch until they had shopping centres locally - end of our permanent pantry deliveries then as the food could be sourced locally and home delivered.
And much much more- the growth of supermarkets was the end of many businesses- corner stores etc/milk and bread home deliveries etc too - I remember when we used to buy blocks of either Vanilla or Neapolitan ice-cream from the ice-cream van too-haven't seen an ice cream van for yonks. Those were the days when most mothers stayed at home- no ones mother I went to school with had a paid job outside of the home. - Different nowadays of course for most

Maybe your kids if employment age have jobs but what about their kids and their kids etc - already I am reading how technology will eventually replace any other occupation one can think off - so in the future what jobs will be available - man they are even developing robot-chefs that can cook meals- every job will be done by non humans eventually- sometime in the future when we are not around it will be robots playing NRL instead of Humans I suppose. A Westworld scenario perhaps and the Robots/Technology will take over

From the DT today;
Tedesco on........... $1,000,000
Pearce on ..............$800,000
Keary on................ $600,000 .
Aubusson on..........$280,000
Tupou on............... $200,000
Gordon on............. $250,000
Taukeiaho on........ $150,000
Seems there should be a more even distribution of the money.
Could be a lot of passes being directed towards Tedesco, Pearce and Cronk for runs in 2018.Last edited by bondi.boy; 10-22-2017, 09:46 AM.
