PARRAMATTA remain hopeful of snatching Cooper Cronk from under the Sydney Roosters grasp. While the Roosters are the red-hot favourites, coach Brad Arthur has confirmed his club was interested in the Melbourne Storm… halfback..

if Parra do sign Cronk then the positional changes I outlined will be how they fit Cronk into their starting 13

Parra have Norman and Moses. They're not in the market for Cronk.
Stick to horse racing- as I said Parra were in the market for Cronk - now confirmed

For maybe 1 to 2 years?
If Pearce went ok, but not Friendy.
We need a good prop more then a 34 year old.

Cronk as an assistant coach would be better!

There is no way Norman would be shifted to hooker, they would put him at FB. I doubt Parramatta have a realistic chance anyway, they don't have the 3rd party clout and have a history of 3P deals not being honored.

Ok maybe you should have read my next post where I explained what was announced last night on a Nine 'sports news' break at around 9:30 pm here in Brisbane. She said "Cooper Cronk set to play for the Roosters in 2018". The news break ended with that only report which makes you wonder why they would only announced that if it wasn't definite. Perhaps her delivery gave me and others that heard that, that he had already confirmed it.

As for what we need, well that's not in our hands BUT given the choice, Cooper Cronk? I'll vote Yes!

Parra does have cap capacity for Cronk without a need for TPA`s - Bernie Gurr doesn`t like them in any case - over 1 mill unspent I understand- Roosters are hoping to sign Cronk for 800k - No one needs to be released then - if a bidding war occurs that may change if they are wanting to sign him though - could also pull out if it means losing either Pearce or Friend one suggests. Uncle Nick likes both and doesn`t want either to leave.

The full article verifies this- Gillis managers both Pearce and Friend and say's neither will be moved on and even saying he`s in negotiations with the Roosters to extend Friends contract.

Arthur worked with Cronk while an assistant at the Melbourne Storm and knows the impact he could have on the Eels’ culture.

“We have plenty of space, but that’s all I’m willing to confirm at the moment,” Arthur, said from Bali.

“Cronk has now added a different perspective on what possible outcomes might happen at a few different clubs.”

Brad Arthur is interested in bringing Cooper Cronk to the Eels.

The Eels speculation comes as the manager of Mitchell Pearce and Jake Friend declared the duo won’t be moved on to accommodate Cronk at the Roosters.

“I think everyone will stay,” Gillis told The Sunday Telegraph.

Cooper Cronk has a number of clubs chasing his signature.

Gillis said he had started talks to extend Friend’s contract at the Roosters.

Parra are a club in perennial crisis. If Cronk is serious about wanting to go to a well managed club, then Parra is not where he will go regardless of the money. What ever someone else said about wanting $1.2m. who the hell actually knows? Money PLUS other conditions will govern Cronks decisions and if he wants to become a rich person, which is one of his apparent aims, then Bouris will show him how.

Before Bernie Gurr took over they were - not the case now with him as CEO-Parra will be a top 4 chance in 2018 for sure.
