We clearly did some serious video work on upper body contact during the week off, easily the best it has been since '15 - Parra limited to just four offloads even when chasing points for most of the game, very promising improvement.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Maubs killed it in attack and defence too. Easily his best game this season.

my highlite for the 5th tackle pearce bomb, was instead of chasing the 5th tackle bomb in a straight flat line, and setting a structured set line to keep the opposition trapped in their half, instead we set two chases after the pearce bombs and pressued the full back or wing to mark the ball and then get driven back. nice to see

I just looked back at Friends running stats for the year. The 55m he ran for yesterday was more than his combined total for Rnds 3-9 inclusive of 36m. Before yesterday, his total for the season was 86m. (If not for 35m gained in Rnd 2, yesterday would have beaten his entire seasons aggregate.)

I noticed during the game he was running more than he had been, but I didn't realise just how completely immobile he has been at dummy half. According to the NRL website player stats, there were 2 games where he made 0 metres.

If that's JT's influence, I'm bloody glad he's back, because that is a huge difference.

I think it was opportunistic after sst cordner and jwh absolutely dominated the ruck. He really needs to lift his creativity out of dummy half. And to stop ****ing kicking the ball.

I dunno... we let in two tries, both of which were defendable. Gutherson's one was pretty textbook stuff. Jennings did like 5 right foot steps around 5 or 6 defenders. I realise that Napa probably pulled out intentionally (sensing that Jennings could just duck down, cop a softie in the face and call it a penalty) but we had them on the ropes and they still scored two (potentially) killer punches at couldabeen turning points. To our credit they weren't turning points, but our defence has holes that need patching.

Warriors... yes it was stupid attack that let us down there (and a stupid penalty that would be a warning in 99/100 cases). However, those two early tries wrecked us. We coulda won like 20-2 if we hadn't let them in.

              Knights got a consolation prize.

Broncos yeah okay... I see why many might see this as a turning point. I accept that this is when our luck changed, but IMO the Storm woulda put ore points on us than Parra. Parra were essentially crippled by their own stupidity and we reaped the benefit. That and their half got injured :P (the curse continues!!!)

Friend said he'd being doing a lot of work with Taylor on his attacking game.

Lets see if we can keep it up for a few weeks before we get too excited.

We have always had the ability to "set the wall" but there only needs to be one weak link for it to fail.

The Jennings try was caused by kane Evans rushing off the line to put a shot on when he didn't need too. He nailed the bloke and went to ground and Jennings just used his footwork to go through the hole. Poor play from Evans.
