Will be interesting if what I am hearing is true and he is exonerated.
All I know about SKD is that he is not one to get out and have huge nights.
He certainly doesn't have the reputation for being a social lunatic

I want to wait for all the information to unfold before passing judgement. Even if Newcastle pulled the plug on that deal, i am sure his first preference is to stay with us at the Roosters.

Why should we get all high and mighty.
If SKD didn't use as he is claiming, he must be dumber than we thought. Just carrying to impress the ladies methinks. What an idiot!

Yep, send him to rehab. On his own time and on his own dime and with absolutely no association to this club. I'm sick to ****ing death of this club, and indeed the code, pulling out the player welfare card every time someone does something wrong. How about the welfare of the club, its sponsors, and the code itself?

Every single time something like this happens, a potential sponsor who may have been keen to embrace the code decides to pursue other avenues. And what kind of message does it send to young kids that if you do something illegal or stupid, the club will protect you? If he's found guilty **** him off. Now.

Wouldn't be the first man to do dumb things to impress 'the ladies'.

Trying to 'impress the ladies' can often end badly.

Rehab isn't just for drugs. If, as was reported, he was at risk of suicide after the DV charges then looking out for him is the right thing to do. The club has contacts, resources, insurances etc... it's not a matter of money, it's basic human decency. If a family member of yours, or a mate, was in this position wouldn't you want to help? The hairy chested keyboard warriors have no idea what it is like in the world outside the internet.

Thought the NRL was about helping young people, not tossing young men and their families away like, well you know, when they make mistakes.

There are reformed drug dealers, drug users, assaulters, some who have spent time in prison currently playing in the NRL?

Making everything black and white is a not a good policy, IMO.
That's why I like the NRL's "Two strikes and you're out" policy.

What if, after the Kangaroos play a game in future...7 of the best players were to go out at 2am to a niteclub, have a few beers, and all were to be caught with cocaine on them?

Life bans? no wriggle-room for HQ?

I just read that as he didn't have a chance to use before he was done.

                      Had drugs in his hand?
Who put the drugs in his hand?

Wonder who rang the cops to come and search him?

Well now the govt man is gonna be drug testing dole recipients.
Who is tested decided by the amount of drugs showing up in the sewer systems of suburbs.

If you're living in a high drug level sewer system suburb, the govt man will be testing you for drugs.
Fail the drug test, your benefits will be 'locked', and only released to you for the purchase of food, payment of bills etc.

meh, you don't go to rehab for no reason dude. You have no idea of his mental state or what problems he may or may not have.

Pity SKD can't find a good lady.
                            That's...good one.
There are some, it's just a matter of finding them.

He was charged with possession. He has a right to prove his case in court.
If he is guilty, he should miss a few weeks and face a fine or both. I find it ridiculous that he has been stood down indefinitely when his court case is still another 6 weeks away. So he could miss up to 6 weeks of football? Surely this won't be the case? Surely he will be back in a few weeks?
And yes, the club should provide him with support and counselling. Yes he should already know that going into night clubs and possessing illegal drugs is a no no. But he hasn't admitted guilt. And given what happened last year with his DV court case and the fact he has no idea if he will have a contract next year or not, it is the right thing for the club and his teammates to look after him.

Oh yes the poor guy. The devil made him do it and he didn't know it was bad cause nobody held his hand and told him. Your comments are laughable. Its time SKD faced up to the reality of his stupidity. If he finds it tough then so be it. Life is tough.
