Let him puff away, if it was doing him harm he wouldn't be playing 80min with ease, Mullins and cliffy Lyons puffed away plenty.

      I think you're being sarcastic.

Different era for Lyons and Mullos.

If he is on the durries well that would explain his errors that creep into the game once he is fatigued. He shouldnt be playing 80 mins.

It is squarely on the Coaching staff to monitor the effects of opposing tactics and adjust our rotations where most needed, not work to some preordained interchange plan.

Every rugby league game Friends attempts to play 80s minutes in turns out the same.... Jake struggling to get to dummy half from the 30 min mark of each half and too fatigued to do anything smart once he gets there. Slow service, floating passes, and a propensity to go down the blind side all the time (possibly because he is too tired to run across field and get into dummy half if he passes to the open side?).

The first 20 minutes of each game he is brilliant. Once he gets tired, he turns to mush. Give him a rest and we'll be a better team for it.

Someone also needs to get in his ear about cutting back on how many tackles he gets himself involved in. There is absolutely no reason to be making 50+ every week, its just silly. Some of the blame here also falls on his team mates for being so lazy that he feels he has to get involved, but the change needs to start with him.

To be fair I do recall your complaint had nothing to do with his onfield antics.

                Not all of it, sure.

But I did also call out anyone who tries to claim he'd be our new X factor. Many were actually claiming he'd be so damaging that he'd make up for the loss of SBW.

He was great in 2015. I would say better than SBW in 2014.

Last year he was an embarrassment. This year he is only slightly better. Actually, no better.

Next year he will be someone else's problem unless he takes a massive pay cut.

I agree with Danish about friend.

In fact, I will go even further, I don't actually rate friend.

I agree with both you and Danish, Friend offers zero in attack apart from kicking the ball on random tackles and his service from dummy half is ordinary, what's worse is he actually struggles to pass the ball properly. I was disappointed that he remained co-captain this season as there is only one real leader out there. Jake's body language is poor and he isn't respected by the referee's.

Wouldn't mind watching Carter have first crack at the hooker job. Not permanently but just to see how the team responds. His tackle effectiveness isn't as good as friend but his attack and aggression are infectious.

That's the thing about Carter, he plays with such high energy, even if it were to be in shorter spurts, say 20 minutes a half. He did miss a tackle in the MacDonald try but absolutely smashed Paul Vaughan as he ran to the line just before. He must give the team a lift with his workrate and offers some pretty good second phase play in addition to his good running game. His downside is pot plant penalties and a relatively high error rate (must be an essential requirement in the Roosters recruitment strategy). Jake ran for 4 metres against the Dragons and about 10 against the Warriors. He poses no threat to the opposition and makes our lead runners so much easier to defend against.

I am interested to see how Grant Garvey goes for Wyong now that he has returned to full fitness. He had 20+ tries and 20+ try assists for the NYC team last year and also a pretty good kicking game, however he had some detractors who probably resented the fact he did more than just make 50 tackles and throw harbour bridge passes from dummy half.

I am bumping this and another thread to show how fickle some people are.
Only a few weeks ago this was doing the rounds and now that we are coming 2nd and looking good we have a Homage To Robbo thread . This place is hilarious.

                              Here is the other thread.
                              http://www.thechookpen.com.au/vb5/fo...th-robbo/page3

                              TIT people.

EDIT: Wasn't Danish the one who said Latrell would not be a star and will not be our X-factor because he didn't play 1st grade at 17 give or take? Severe foot in mouth disease she has.

Yeh stoked with 2nd place heading into the bye round.

Well above expectations. Really look like we are building into the season well too.

                                Touch wood.
