Neither games have been set up for him, ideally you want him to come on when we've established some dominance. Last week we were on the back foot all second half and this week the game was in the balance for nearly all of the 2nd half.
The thing with Watson is he does have errors in him and we can only really afford those errors when we're on top.
Good post. I was thinking the same thing. The stupid pass when we were under enormous pressure reeked of someone trying to make an impression with limited time on the field. It really is an elephant in the room.
I think it is important to remember we are only 2 rounds into the season and that these thing will take time to work out.
The big three pluses for me are:
1) Latrell Toups combo
2) Keary Pearce combo
3) Matterson finding his place in the team
4) Tetevano now pushing for a bench spot and showing what impact we should be having off the bench
Mitchell came into this level with all the fanfare of the next GI and though he showed some glimpses of talent, he had some shockers last year but Robbo persisted with him. Now 12 months in first grade look at his improvement. Watson has to be exposed to 1st grade as much as possible. Last year he showed glimpses of great things to come. The more time he gets, the more confidence he'll gain. I still feel he should have played last week against a weaker defense. We have to be patient because we know he's talented and that means that other players have to also support him. Perhaps with the big teams, he should be asked to seat it out.
