Long long way to go for Lam and O'Sullivan before we can determine whether they'll be good enough for 1st grade.
How many gun 18yr old halves have disappeared over the years?
There hasn't been many 18 yo gun halves over the years.. Connor Watson and Wing the only ones in 15 years.. Young POS will be the next at our club or another..

Hey dont forget the savior Ray Stethr "I don't think it's in disguise but Pearce's efforts with the puppy has opened the door for us to finally get a decent half/5/8. Nikorema is our savior and he will prove to be our best pivot since Freddy. It's obvious that Hastings is the goods and Nikorema's performance has me saying Maloney who. Pearce can stay in Thailand as far as I'm concerned."
Can anyone shed some light on the re-signing of Pearce. Where it's at? Will they sign him?
Does anyone think that Moses would have been a target for the 7 role?
I'm expecting players to be let go & some major signings for 2018 and by major I mean some real tried and proven stars. A big name prop? A fullback - JT? Can't see Gordon going round for a second year.......
Should be interesting none-the-less.
Pearce will probably sign on for another 3 or 4 years, perhaps he as he is representing homself this time is waiting for the new salary cap to be announced before agreeing to a price that he can put pen to paper.
I think that with the rumour circulating that we are not after Teddy anymore makes who will stay and go a bit more rock solid. Mitchell or Watson will be the fullback next year although with Carter being rumoured to be back on the drink that may throw a spanner as then Watson may be required to wear the number 14 this year.
I expect Toops, Copley, SKD, Guerra and possibly Evans to not be running around for us in 2018.

I expect Toops and SKD to definitely be here if only for another year or two beyond that. Evens, who knows. He needs to develop a lot yet but could be anything.
Copley and Guerra- close the door and lock it tightly.
Pearce is a good player that I would be happy to have at our club for his next contract, however only if he is willing to take a pay cut to allow us to actually bring someone to the club can take control in clutch situations.
For all of pearces undeniable talent and effort, i can't recall a single clutch play where he has won us a game. Certainly not in any game that mattered anyway. His complete inability to kick a field goal when scores are tied is also a worry. The sheer amount of halves partners that have been brought in and then tossed in efforts to prop him up is insane.
Unfortunately I feel he will instead become our first milllion dollar player, and with that the highest paid player in our team.

Surprising from you mate. I thought you'd be pretty anti after he assaulted that female dog.

Each clubs board/people/coaches have different opinions on what a $1M player is.
The Cowboys think Thurston is worth a million because he organises & delivers on the clutch plays but his defence is sus.
The Storm think Cronk is worth a million because he executes the big plays & kicks pressure field goals but he's not the quickest half back getting around.
The Roosters I think feel that Pearce is worth 1 million because he is the best defensive & toughest half back playing the game but he cant get repeat sets or kick field goals.
No player in the game has every skill mastered because if he did he wouldn't be a human being.

What about players that aren't in the game anymore? I'm pretty sure these guys are human like Wally Lewis, Peter Sterling, Ricky Stuart and Alfie Langer to name just a few rather complete oldies. What about some more recently retired ones like Lockeyer and Fittler? What do you think these guys would be worth if they were running around today with the upcoming changes to the cap?
I didn't mention Joey Johns in there as I believe ex druggos shouldn't be included in the same class as non drug users.
I cant believe how stupid some people on here are.
Anyone who puts Andrew Johns in the ex druggo catergory for taking a few ecstasy tablets has no idea of what a true drug addict is. True drug addicts have no other focus other than drugs they dont play NRL being the best player in the game they commit crime & go to jail, trust me I know.
Freddy & Lockyer were total clean skins & that white powder that was around their nostrils was from eating to many cakes with icing sugar on top.

Because defence and toughness are no doubt the most important attribute of a halfback. Sounds like he should be playing in the backrow.
