  • What's the goss on Pearce ??

Can anyone shed some light on the re-signing of Pearce. Where it's at? Will they sign him?

Does anyone think that Moses would have been a target for the 7 role?

I'm expecting players to be let go & some major signings for 2018 and by major I mean some real tried and proven stars. A big name prop? A fullback - JT? Can't see Gordon going round for a second year.......
    Should be interesting none-the-less.

Pearce will definitely be re-signed. And Moses would have been our 5/8.

A lot of clubs and players are still - STILL - waiting for the shockingly incompetent NRL to come to terms on a new salary cap for next season before signing any player contracts.

Im a big Pearce fan so much so that I would make him the captain, I hope & Im pretty sure they will sign him for another 4 years making sure he is a 1 club player.
As much as I would like Pearce to get repeat sets with a short kicking game into the oppositions in-goal on the 4th or 5th tackle I accept that he cant master every skill. His toughness & his commitment to the Roosters makes me like him a hell of alot.
What happened at the beginning of 2016 will plague him forever & it was a silly thing to do but he didnt mean to bring the heat onto the Roosters & I feel when he came back into the side he tried even harder than what he usually does.
Pearcey has his best footy ahead of him, he will get more & more mature as his career draws closer to finishing & when its all over people will realise what passionate loyal one club man he was for the mighty Roosters.

        Hi Wayne, what's happening?

I don't exactly disagree. I think Pearce's best footy is definitely ahead of him.

In fact I suspect the next 4-5 years of his career will be outstanding and if we can build the right playmaking core around him then we'll have a lot of success.

Yeah, I'm a Pearce fan also. Would really like to see him do well at Origin Level. Hate it when he gets blamed for NSW getting smashed. Wabbits Reynolds had a good series last year IMO, as did Maloney, so Pearce will have to be playing pretty darn well to make the team.

Then again, I gotta admit that I'm not a big fan of Origin, and I don't mind when Roosters players don't get chosen.............

I'll put my house on it that Pearce will be the half-back for NSW if he is fit this year.

Matching under wear has many more than that but the thing that all his personalities have in common is that they all drink the bong water & then eat fairy floss through their rectum .

Please get back on topic and stop hijacking threads with your paranoia.

For what it's worth, I reckon Pearce has got plenty of good footy ahead of him and I would have no probs seeing him a Rooster for life. In saying that, I reckon Jimmy Maloney made him look extra good.

                      I'm not exactly anti-Pearce, as a player.
His defence is great, his long kicking game is ok, and he's bloody fast.
I just don't think he's any good under pressure, and needs someone else to call the shots when the chips are down.
He's a good solid first grade quality halfback, but he isn't worth the kind of top dollar a really top notch half commands.
It wouldn't matter if it wasn't for the stupid salary crap.

Like most I was really down on him for last pre-season, but the nrl took the heat off him in my books by over reacting and getting involved in what should've been a club matter.
I would've supported any sanction the club imposed on him......................at least it would've been realistic.

                      Pearce needed Maloney.

Pearce has enough flaws in his game, that he really should of handled by now, if we are a chance of snaring Ash Taylor, I think he should be our number one choice for 2018, I think he will be a sensational player for many seasons to come. Bennett is not chasing him for nothing, he was really pissed off, he had to let him go to the Gold Coast , in the first place.

I am sure if he wants to be here the club will look after him in that regard and from what I understand is that he loves the club and wants to be a one club player.

We had Maloney for that, his short kicking game was good when he left.

                            We move on.
Pearce might be able to improve his short kicking game, with coaching.

And it wasn't anything not found on those "do something ridiculous" shows on cable tv.

Could be the best thing that ever happened to him...he seemed 'off the rails' drinking/lifestyle wise.

Now he's much brighter, has clear eyes etc.
He now has 4 years or so in which to build 'wealth' [money and lifestyle wise] to set himself up for a good life after footy.
                            Hopefully we re-sign him.
