Top 25 come under the NRL salary cap, some will play under 20's and the rest will be in reggies and come under the 2nd tier cap.

Yeh he is their brother. 130kg so more like shaq than lattrell.

We might find Garvey in the number 14 jersey before the year is out or even earlier.

I have seen Shaq play real RL (Ron Massey Cup) and he handled it , but he needs to get the weight down.

Weight may be part of it the other is competitive desire to be the best, separates plenty of could/should have bins.

The whole idea of cutting our club down to the privileged 25 kinda sucks.
This competition needs a proper reserve grade, and people at the top who believe in democracy, rather than profit.

Although that last sentence sounds a tad contradictory , think about sport........................and stop thinking that the nrl has anything to do with rugby league.

Mitch Cornish will find himself in a Cornish Pastie before he finds himself in first grade. Garvey is definitely in line for that reserve hooker/utility role before him.

                  Shame about Shaq .
He reminds me of an old fashioned style of player with actual rugby league skills.
I guess he'll never cut it in droneball or whatever the code is called these days.

                    > Mitchell Cornish will not play FG unless Pearce, Keary & Watson are all out injured at the same time.

Surely he only needs one to be injured or playing Origin if he's hitting good form. Maybe Nikorima is ahead of him (maybe?) and we can shuffle a few things around, but I'd say that (for example) Pearce or Friend playing Origin could potentially be enough.

Not saying it'll happen, but Pearce, Friend and Keary are all bolters for Origin selection (although guessing Keary's allegiance to QLD has had him blacklisted?)

Alternatively, Watson could fail to impress? He's still only as good as his last game IMO.

Garvey will be the interesting one. I don't rate him as highly as others.
He tends to play too much of his own game and that really showed in the 20s GF

His injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise on game day..............but those teams have always surprised as to who makes a career from the game.

certainly dont agree on your garvey comment as to his gf injury being a blessing in disguise but acknowledge that vic radley played a major role in the win along with butcher.

Wasn't having a shot at Garvey, just a reflection on what happened to the scoreboard after he disappeared.
Maybe losing him was the uppercut the team needed.

I can see Shaqai Mitchell playing 1st grade but I think that we won't see him there for at least another 2 or 3 years. He needs time & as said earlier looks like an old school type player. There's no way that I would write him off.

Garvey is my bolter for the year. I reckon that he'll keep Friend on his toes over the next couple of seasons..
