  • Culling our FG Squad

Our squad currently stands at 37 as listed on roosters.com.au

Obviously too large and people to be culled. How many in your squad these days?

Anyone on the know re some of these players and their chances of a contract:
    1. Lindsay Collins
    2. Poasa Faamausili
    3. Paul Momirovsli
    4. Shaqai Mitchell brother of Latrell)
    5. Reuben Porter
    6. Zane Tetvano

I'm aware some of these players have been in the system for a season or two. Looking for insights please

Get rid off the guys on decent coin that are surplus first ,Copley, Nikorima. Ruben Porter is a gun,Poasa Faamausili is pretty good,Tetevano hasn't played yet and the rest can play for Wyong.
The world is full of Kings & Queens, who blind your eye's & steal your dreams!

Good thread Axe. I would love to know more about Collins. We signed him ahead of last season, so the club must have seen something in him way back then. He didn't seem to play a lot last year so not sure if injuries kept him out or if they preferred others at the Broncos, maybe on account of the fact he was leaving? Certainly seems to have a big frame. Never seen him play but keen to see what he has got. Has anyone seen him play and if so, what is his go?

IMO Shaqai Mitchell should/will never see first grade.
Nikorima is the big unknown for me, definitely worth persevering with i think

Broncos wanted to keep him, I assume it was usual bennet business him not playing, he was also chased by the Reds, brisbane lions and considering that I assume a couple more NRL clubs did. So he's at least very athletic, hopefully he can play footy as well.

Shaq has an incredible amount of potential and talent. The thing is whether he will reach his potential or not. Odds are not great but I like the kid.

I wish him all the best and hope he goes as good as his brother.

There is 36 players not 37, Trent Robinson is a ring in.

JWH, Napa, Friend, Cordner, Guerra, Taukeiaho, Liu, Evans, Materson, Aubusson & Butcher are first choice forwards with Watson as the impact intechange player with Friend.

Carter, Tetevano, Knight, Collins, Chris Smith & Brock Gray are next so Shaq Mitchell will never play FG. Eloni Vunakece, Porter & Faamausilli will only get a chance if Carter, Tetevano, Knight, Collins, Chris Smith & Brock Gray are injured.
Mitchell Cornish will not play FG unless Pearce, Keary & Watson are all out injured at the same time.
Paul Momirovski will be 4th choice 5/8 so I doubt he will play FG.
I cant see JTS getting near FG.
If Friend stays fit I cant see Garvey getting a run in FG because I think Watson will be used off the bench Craig Wing style.

A very good trainer. Fit and agile for his build.

                    KB or others,

There's another Mitchell in our 20's squad who looks indigenous. Anyone know if he's related and his ability.

You haven't included Brendan Santi as well.

                        Hope I'm wrong about him.
Shows some skill yes, but genetics will kill him. With the interchange rules how they are now and even less in the future more than likely, it's impossible to see how he can make it. To be that size at his age, I can only.see him getting bigger. Could trim down in the short term but one slight injury and he piles the weight on. The big men of first grade will punish him and won't fall for his 'tricks' like they do in the terrible comp which is the 20's, thank **** that's over after this year

Funny thing is, when he and Latrell tried out for the dogs, Shaq was the one they were looking at.

BS. Cleal thought that by signing Shaq that Latrell would follow, it was Latrell they wanted all along.

Does anyone know, in layman terms how large your squad can be?

My bad for including Robbo, Micky.

So we have 36. How many will that become in the coming weeks? Are we over cap/budget?
