  • It won't happen but...

I would like to see how Kane Evans would go playing second-row. He is certainly athletic, has a good offload and might enjoy the open spaces. Could he defend an edge? Dunno. But neither could Guerra in 2016. Thoughts?

He would get shredded in defence.

What makes you say that? Are you thinking he couldn't handle the quick blokes? Or something else?

His mobility, he gets found out in the middle where there's far less space between defenders so if you move him out wider where the spacing only increases most teams would have a field day.

He's definitely athletic but he's quite awkward too and struggles with acceleration off the mark, when he finds top speed though he is a sight to behold.

He is suspect with his lateral defence

Needs to be used in attack out wide and defend in the middle. I don't think he will make it if he keeps getting used in the middle in attack. Hasn't got the right physical attributes to play a 'traditional ' prop role, but out wide i think he could be devastating

Offload? Can't remember a lot of those. I can remember a few breaks though - sadly usually capped off by dropping the ball when he is tackled.

On last years form I would agree with you, but go back to the end of 2015 when he was playing some reasonable footy and he had a good offload in him, can distinctly remember one for RTS in the semi aginst the Dogs which led to a try.

What about the offload to RTS against Manly at Brookie in 2015, where Lui scored? Sensational!

I don't think he is cut out to be a prop in first grade. I don't think he has the mongrel and i don't think he has the body type to do it effectively. There was so much awful crabbing and handling last year, truly dreadful to watch most of the time. Easily dominated and barely ever dented th eline.

If he can improve his defence, i think he could make a good second rower.

He will have a lot of pressure on him this year with Knight & co on his heels in the pecking order. He has to to start showing something or be shown the door.

I think we need to write off most of our team's form from 2016.

                        Evans is no exception.

Even Michael Appleby came up with a couple of offloads - and one I remember even stayed in the field of play. But that was a good one.

Haha! Michael Appleby. There's a blast from the past. I think Mark Protheroe developed an offload too - or a flop out the back anyway. Those were tough times for Easts!

Protheroe was my favourite player at the time - though I admit he was pretty craphouse. Appleby is probably the worst player I have ever seen in our colours.
