Easts vs Broncos at a bitterly cold SFS in 1993, trailing 8-26 the Roosters made an amazing recovery to score 3 tries to get back to 22-26 but the score should have been level after Brendan Hall missed a goal from right in front and another very close to the posts, then to add insult to injury Jeff Orford scored a fair try under the post off a kick which would have given us a 28-26 win[had Hall kicked the goal] but the ref called him offside, the video replay clearly showed he was onside, even Brian Smith doing commentary said we were well and truly ripped off.

That was Steve Clarke the cheat.. Orford was 2 metres onside. Rod Silva was heavily instrumental in the comeback and was tripped by Alan Langer in the second half on one attacking raid. I clearly remember John Peard on commentary without a hint of bias calling for it to be a send off rather than just a penalty. I am pretty sure the kick that Jeff Orford collected was from none other than Shane Walker.

Wow mate, what a stat. All those close losses makes managements decision to let Maloney go even more excruciating .

Most have already been mentioned... A little karma for that criminal Craig Field, kicking a field goal at the Sfs for Manly... Still cannot believe that Satler is still being talked up to "immortal" proportions for that tackle. For me, 03 Gf still worse memory than the Archer stichup of 2000.

              Indeed it was.

Brendan Hall missing that kick from in front. Another great Roosters moment.

Craig O Dwyer got the ball rolling in the comeback scoring a good hookers try and Hall converted to put us behind just by 12 pts, then we score under the post and Hall fluffs the kick completely , it sought of stalled the roll on we had at the time.

Cant even touch a thread like this - I have a permanent delete button in my memory processes when it comes to really painful losses - I usually have a three hour drive home to contemplate a terrible loss with a bit of analysis during the week until the next game and that's it for me.

Any hint of memory recall in the future and i quickly beat it into submission and banish it back to the dark depths of my memory bank.

I seem to remember Dale Shearer stuffing up what could have been a try for us at some stage, think he was clear and dropped the ball or dropped a pass when he would have been in the clear, my memory is bit hazy on it .

Well done. I remember that game. What an outrage.

You brought back a traumatic memory I thought I had banished from my mind haha. Mine is hazy on that moment too but I'm sure he dropped the ball when put into the clear.

I have vague memories of that too. He came on as a late replacement and did something stupid. One of our best transit lounge signings that one. Played one season with us which no one can remember anything of, other than he did something stupid in a semi final.
