  • Todd Carney

His minds not on the job and his heart ist in it

He has to take time off to clear his head or find another club, he is no use to us playing like this...

He is mainly responsible for our terrible year together with the coach

If we let him go we'd be kicking ourselves when he's back at his best.

But then again we can't drop him from the team or send him to Newtown because that would destroy his confidence and be counter-productive. We just have to wait it out.

dare i say anasta has been doing a better job than him at 5/8. even if it was just one good pass.

Watch the first 20 carefully. We could have been up by 18 if it wasn't for bad hands. The Storm didnt know how to handle Carney when he ran the football. He was creating overlaps that would have led to tries if we could catch the ball. I thought shit, the kid's back look at him run circles around them.

Then what happens in the 21st minute? Anasta.

He starts controlling everything. He starts calling for everything, and Carney goes into his shell. and our game goes out the window.

Anasta should just make his 10 tackles and 5 hitups, get out of the ****ing way and let the kid play football.

          Anasta is stiffling Carney's comeback.

Carney is here in name only. Going through the motions, and nothing more.

i could be wrong but it seemed to me that with some of his plays he was trying too hard, like with some of those passes that resulted in drop ball and little chips over the top. he was capable of that last yr with confidence oozing but not this yr. also with some of those passes it looked as if the receivers didnt know they were coming, hence the dropped ball. remember these players such as mataka voitou havent played with him before. i think a slightly more simple game is required to build combinations and get the team a little confidence, and then start getting more adventurous after you start getting the simple things right.
and if hes going into his shell you cant really say thats anastas fault, thats a sign that hes playing badly he should be calling for it.

Carney started well. But way too much inexperience in the outside backs for him to go on with it.

When the pace of the game picked up and things got frenetic we dropped high pressure flat passes, got bundled into touch, gave away penalties and got upset. Melbourne handled the blowtorch way better.

Easts get upset and blow it. Too emotional and inexperienced. There's no grind in the team whatsoever (that lineup anyway.)

                Season over.

Time to keep blooding new players and work on laying a foundation for 2012.

Carney was a bit better last night, still not good, but a bit better.
Anasta isn't stiffling Carney, its all Carney

maybe just maybe what we saw last season from carney will not return? if a very good 5/8 comes onto the market we should consider grabbing him? i think tod will improve slightly asa the season grinds on then at seasons end we do a deal with canberra, swap carney fror dugan? not so silly?

How can he get outplayed by Widdop who is on a quarter the money

                      its an embarassment

That's a pretty good simple summation.

If you think anyone at the sturm and drang are on reduced money then you have probably taken too many hits to the head.

They just about fielded a side that would be close to the salary cap last night.

that's no excuse for the diabolical Roosters though.

He's still not 100% fit IMO.
                            He's slowly getting back.

Maybe last year will be the best he'll ever play..only time will tell.

Opposition coaches got a good look at him last year, and all on tape, ... he's been heavily marked this year.

2 points for our 2nd bye ...and we're only 4 points behind the 8th placed team.
