That was the only reason I could think of why Hastings wasn't kicking for goal. Very good game from SOH, I hope he gets another decent crack to cement a first grade position.

I think he showed he's a better 7 than 6. Maybe we would play better with Pearce at 5/8 when he returns?

I think at best -bench did some real good things then disappeared in patches

I think today proved yet again that Hastings is an organising halfback. He is not a 5/8. If he gets a full-time gig at a Club as their starting 7 he will do really well.

I think the Club has realised it as well and has chosen to keep Pearce at the Club over Hastings. Rightly or wrongly.

did a couple of good things, played busted and tough, good short game, but also threw some very O passes to blokes not in good positions, and we were lucky they didn't drop them.
Reminds me of Hodgkinson, ie a steady organiser.

SOH played well as did Matto who looked more comfortable.

Spot on JC, it is blatantly obvious he is an organising half. His defence was outstanding, however there are 3 things lacking in his game which i can understand the club having doubts over keeping him. He doesn't take the line on enough, he has a fairly weak kicking boot, both Matterson and Pearce have powerful boots and a severe lack of pace.

If Latrell is injured and Pearce is back, maybe watson to fullback, hastings to bench and pearce to seven

I think a couple of weeks ago they wouldve just dropped Watson and shifted Ryan or Jackson to the bench, but golly gosh you'd be silly to drop Watson after tonight

the times this year we have looked impressive is when all three - hastings, matterson and watson have been on the field the same time.

I wouldn't have thought all 3 played together very often.
