I do not blame Hastings for what is happening, that does not mean i think Johns is a good coach, his track record is very poor, Hastings form last year was very good, since then his kicking game has gone backwards, is it because of injury or is what he is being shown is not working.

You said that Hastings is going ok. I also think Niko is going ok. Our 1, 6 and 7 are either all eligible for NYC or just out. Can you judge what Johns has done on two games with a bunch of kids? You said Hastings is going ok. Did you expect our young halves to be world beaters in two games especially with our forwards giving them no field position?
I don't know all the halves that Johns has been involved in. The only two I know are Foran and Cherry. Are you saying that the time he had at Manly that they both went backwards? I think they are both quality halves. I think Cherry has gone backwards this year and it is too early to tell with Foran.
I would have thought that Robbo has chosen fairly decent assistant coaches over the last three years and that he would be a decent judge rather than just looking at a name.

Newcastle, Parramatta those blokes were great he done wonders with them you really think he made Foran and Cherry Evans the players they are? Do you Think Gus, Bennett, Hagan made Fittler, Lockyer and Johns the players they were?

How can one judge how much influence he had on the good players? Yes they are naturally talented but they too need coaching. He may have put the icing on the cake for them.
As much as you can say that some are naturally gifted, some are also naturally crap. It is hard to turn shit into a diamond no matter how much you polish it.
Even supercoach and all the money in the world did nothing for Newcastle.
