We need to remember that guys like SST and Liu are only 1-2 years into their NRL career and Kane and Dylan not too much more either.

Until we get the likes of Pearce, JWH and Cordner back, get used to seeing Henderson on the bench I reckon. Once Pearce is back and fit for 80 mins and one or both of JWH and Cords returns, Henderson will most likely be replaced by young Niko.
There is absolutely no point in having experience if you don't have talent. Bring back fitter to play in the halves? He's pretty experienced. Hendo is not a back rower. He is an ineffective ball runner. He will never break the line and doesn't have leg speed. Aubusson covered hooker well enough last season. I'd rather have someone on the up who can run and hit hard. Zane musgrove didn't have any experience against us last week and tore us a new ass hole up the middle.

Unfortunately, what you'd rather doesn't matter ... it's what the coaching staff prefer.

I'm not saying that having Henderson on the bench is the best option, but if that's what Robbo & Co think is best, then we need to accept it for what it is, given their superior knowledge of the situation and the players.

After all, it's Robbo's job on the line if the season doesn't go to plan ...

I won't just accept every decision the club makes and as a club member I feel entitled to have an opinion on the matter. I can't blindly accept 'Robbo knows best' on everything. These team selections don't make sense to me and many others here. If we butcher the start to our season it won't matter when our stars come back.

My main concern will be the speed at which Robbo can read and adapt our team and style. Robbo is known to back his players 100% which is probably why the players love him. However, this viewpoint might result in committing to an incorrect decision for longer than necessary and damage our season.

I think we'll go close this weekend. But a loss by 6 points or less will leave me with a bitter taste in the mouth if we're dominated up the middle and hendo spent time as a back rower.

Actually it does matter when the suspended/injured players come back. It will be around 8-10 rounds in. After Round 8 last year we were 3-5. We then went on a massive winning streak of 12 odd games. The premiership is not won the first 10 rounds, nor is it lost. It's what happens in the second half of the season that matters, and hopefully by then all our missing troops will be back and our combinations would have gelled.

I doubt we will be in the top 4, but I'm hoping we can make the 8.

You can have all the opinions you like on team selections and the club in general, most of us do. It's just none of us on here (that I know of) have any input or control as to what actually happens at the Chooks, and accepting that saves a lot of heartburn.

What's the use of having a fan forum then?
If any of us express a different opinion to that of the powers that be, we can just be shouted down with "what makes you think you're better than Robbo" , or "Nothing you say will make a difference"...............
Might as well not bother posting unless we want to read who so and so's favourite player is.

You can vent and express all the opinions you like about whatever you like Just don't expect to change anything with them, that's all. I know it's frustrating but it's reality.

Can you imagine what our club would be like if all on here had an actual say on how our club was run - and we think it can be a basket case now ...

The 3-5 stat last year is interesting. Provides some hope. However it won't just be a matter of getting the players back but having them in the right position. Pearce cordner and jwh will sort the forwards and the bench out. Backline still looks sloppy but hopefully we'll have seen enough by rounds 8-10 to know where everyone stands.

                      Provides no hope...
JWH & Cords will surely need a few runs on their return from missing so many games, Pearce not so much. Last years starting sides included RTS, Maloney, Pearce, JWH, Cords, Jenko and Fergo@4. Not so this year...
Take a look at the draw after round 12 and tell me you see a run of x number of games of any net worth. That's why it was so imperative to start well and get these early competition wins when other sides are still finding their feet.

Sorry sir. I'll abandon hope immediately.

Certainly, no obsession I promise you that.

A bloke that got us to 3 grand finals in a row is universally mocked by club officials and supporters, yet he has been our most successful coach.

                            It's hilarious.

                            Graham Murray groomed the team....
                            Gus coached the team.......
Dean Pay was the defensive genius.....
                            Hoss Cartwright was loved......

Look we can win, I just don't think it is likely. My market would be Canberra 1.50 roosters 2.40.

Game to game is all hit and miss but globally I see things alright.
Globally, I see the raiders as a tight unit at home with a coach that has been resigned for a couple more years.( a deal which was always done)
Globally , I see us with a rookie team with a hangover in attitude from being a gun side.
Fair enough I tend to agree with you here I would honestly give us little chance if Canberra didnt have their halves missing this week We look so far behind the pace of the other sides like we did early in 2007

Ricky is my all time favourite Roosters coach, 3 GF's in a row that will never be matched. I used to love going down to Wentworth Park dogs to watch the Roosters train when Ricky was at the helm.
