  • Ricky Stuart v Trent Robinson

    A tale of two cities.

    Sydney v Canberra.
    What was v what is.

Canberra have had a stress free pre season. They are a unified tight outfit.
    Missing their halves won't matter.
We will probably lose. We suck.
That's OK, we will get better........if.....Robbo is as good as we all think.

    Ricky be loving this
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Losing their halves won't matter? Interesting.

The Cowboys are unified. But losing JT and Morgan would matter.

Likewise the Broncos with Milf and Hunt.

FWIW I reckon we'll bounce back strongly and win by 12. Robbo IS a great coach.

      .
At first glance that seems like a really stupid thing for him to say.
But maybe he's seen a lot of this rookie 5/8 and rates Sam Williams as a top notch replacement,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nope , let's go with the stupid comment.

        They are at home.

They had a tough but morale boosting win.

Their halves (Sam Williams) still has more fg experience than our halves.

        They have a gargantuan pack.

        Their back 5 impress me.

Their fullback is going great guns.....whereas our fullback is playing on the wing and our best centre is playing fullback and going sh*thouse at it.

I have faith we will put in an improved performance but Trew makes perfect sense thinking they would win.

Like last week it will be won and lost by who controls possession which is usually forwards dominating and then having a superior kicking game. They have more big boppers than us and Williams has a tidy kicking game.

I hope we will win but I'm not expecting it.

          .
          lol so true.
Seems most people agree with this except robbo?

But are we really scared of Canberra ?
I haven't seen much of them I'll admit.
But their home record last year was terrible, any team in the comp would miss it's first choice halves , and we have to play better than last week.
And how can their forward pack be so great if FPN can be a starting prop?

Don't forget we've got big bad Guerra.............He'll smash 'em.
Trew is just getting pessimistic in his old age.

From what Ive seen on his tipping on our games Trew has no clue I recall at the backend of last season he thought we would lose to Canterbury but beat Brisbane Trewella tipping against us gives me some confidence that we can win But then again everyone is right now and again This is Trews chance to get one right because we looked miles off the pace last week
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Couldnt confidently tip either side but obviously hope the Roosters win it. Im confident Canberra will make the 8 though & I bet BJ Leilua will be the best centre on the field this Saturday

Missing their halves won't matter? Like it didn't matter on Sunday when the Roosters didn't have their usual halves??

Don't give Ricky too much credit too soon - his teams have been consistently inconsistent for a number of years now. There is no guarantee they will play as well this week than they did last week. And the Chooks can only improve, that's for sure. One good game doesn't make a season.

As for Leilua, again you don't know what you'll get from the bloke from week to week. He is the SKD of the Raiders - there's a 50/50 chance he'll have a blinder or a shocker. Let's hope it's Leilua's turn for a shocker.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

With the weather prediction to be super hot on Sat in Canberra (33C), wouldn't having a monster pack (like Canberra) be a negative considering the new rule of reduced interchanges?
I think this game will come down to hunger and how much we want to win.
Last week's energy levels right from the kickoff seemed poor, particularly in our defence where we constantly allowed their players to make at least 10m per run.
I'm hoping that the embarrassment of last week's hiding will get us over the line this week, where the players will try and restore some pride in the jersey ...

He was good last week. Trent needs to bite the bullet and change his backs to play in their best positions. Latrell at the back. Toupou and Burgess wings. Fergo and SKD centres.. that's our best/strongest possible line up.

Just because Mitchell played fullback in Juniors doesnt mean that is his position in the NRL. I would say a large chunk of players coming through play in different positions once making the NRL. Dont get me wrong, from what i have seen his position is fullback, but nothing wrong with playing some time on the wing.

Imagine moving to a new position/department at your job/work and after a week being told that your no good and should go back to your last position/department. Everyone needs some time and a chance to prove them selves.

They played in worse conditions last week and didn't even get a drinks break at the 20m mark like we did. Hopefully that negatively impacted their recovery.
