Brian Smiff coached in the UK from memory Muzz, had some success im sure.

Mal Reilly is one of the few coaches whose won comps in both the UK and here.

And dOpes coached to wins in both hemispheres too im certain.

Bomber Mcrae coached in both comps, didnt win anything I can recall.

David Waite same, he did reach a few GFs like Smiffy.

If anything coaching in the UK can be even more cut throat. While they appear to have fewer fans over there they are ruthless when they dont get their own way.

IMO Daniel Anderson should be our coach. We farked up in not offering him what he wanted to take control of our club. Hes a ruthless operator and he gets good results wherever he goes. He builds culture and hes not linked to our current squad. I reckon Watsamatta will be like Poocastle they will suffer for a year or so but will only benifit in the long run for making the choice theyve made.

      The FlogPen .

      You know it makes sense.

Thanks for adding the others stsae and agreed Daniel Anderson should have gotten the Roosters Coaching Role.

Apart from his credentials, he is also a original rooster, not a player, not support staff, but a fan from when he was young, his folks are still chooks supporters too !! so if he screws up, forget answering to politis, he has is own dad to answer too !!!!!!

Some of the coaches that have been listed coached in the NRL before going to ESL....eg Anderson, Smith, Opes, Waite etc.

Not many come from ESL to here and have success....if any.

As for McLennan pffft. He got the kiwis up for one game. Wouldnt want him anywhere near the Roosters

Im from Leeds and his popularity is very mixed over here. He seems to be a very good motivator but managed to blow an 8 point lead for us halfway through last season where we finished 2nd by 1 point.

We then were stuffed in our first play off game but won the next and managed to beat a Daniel Anderson coached Saints in the final. This year his popularity has dropped.

We are currently running 3rd behind Saints and Hull KR but what has cost us in the games we have lost is our discipline. Something that was always spot on under Tony Smith. Now we struggle to go a couple of sets without giving away a penalty.
