Jake is a good player but it's difficult when the opposition constantly get piggy back penalties and he is playing from his own half for most of the game.

Jake is a good solid player, but he doesn't really offer us much in attack (yet). Until he does we have to get rid of that Fat Slob Riddell and give Glenn Dumbrell a go. Sure he may make some mistakes, but he is a brilliant attacking hooker who would give us some thrust out of dummy half.

I don't know why we are the only team in the league who seems so reticent to give some of the young guys a go, sure they make some errors but is that any worse than some of the overpaid, underperforming hacks e.g. Anasta, and FPN.

They mentioned yesterday that the side that ran on had the yougest average age in the comp. Considering Anasta and Mini bump up that average age, you can't criticise the club for not trying young blokes.

He has shown glimpses of his attacking potential but not enough of it
He doesnt have a running game.

would help if he wasnt one of the culprits giving away those stupid penalties all the time.

The ability that both friend and Nate have in slowing the play the ball is second to none in our side. Now let me get this straight you defended Pearce for two years because he was young and ineffectual but you want to kick another to the kerb who is completely out performing pearce at the same stage in his career.

Jake would be the last person to be dropped
he has been terrible this year.

Our best player by a long way has been kennedy this year.

and dont mention slowing play the balls and myles in the same sentence. I can have a cup of tea whilst I wait for myles to get up to play the ball.

I found the criticism of pearce a few years ago to be over the top yet this player seems to escape any form of criticism from people on here. Somewhat hypocritical. Pearce has been shit this year and if you notice I have hardly defended him this year in any attacks on him.

That is a good effort. I'm not doubting his effort as such.

But you can't blame fatigue for the early errors he made in the game.

of course fred , jake doesnt have a running game. Hes too stuffed after making 58 tackles !! Smiths biggest failing in my opinion is not dropping Anasta whose effort is negligible. Perhaps Smith would get a better on field performance if he had a captain who could inspire. Whilst Mini has lost his x factor abilities, atleast unlike Anasta he's out their trying and hes safe at the back!! As a facesaver for Smith I would bench Anasta and make Mini captain and maybe the troops would perform for him!!

Maybe thats because he's got a friend (excuse the pun) or two on this site.

But he isnt up to first grade standard - not at the moment at least. He is very young so that is in his favour so maybe he is worth persisting with (at newtown) for the future. But terrible passing from dummy half, terrible missed tackles and repeat offender at giving away penalties.

I dont know why but it seems our club can never find a decent winger, centre or hooker. I don't even want a star, just someone decent will do in those positions. We've got nothing of the sort.
Who will tackle then Freddie, Mitch Finch ????? he is a better defender than mitch, better ball distributer and better runner of the ball ,maybe they can trade places, may score some tries that way

For fuks sake people, Jake is only 20.

Stop crucifying a 20 yr old for the mess we are in. Yes he gives away stupid penalties, but he is not alone.

It is not the younger guys that are the issue here, the so-called experienced ones are not showing any leadership, drive or enthusiasm.

Give the kid time to shine.

And Dumbrell from the 20's looks a good prospect at hooker.

The only one I want crucified is a 30 year old sook.

I'm reminded of the Clint Eastwood film Sudden Impact.

"Listen, punk. To me you're nothin' but dogshit, you understand? And a lot of things can happen to dogshit. It can be scraped up with a shovel off the ground. It can dry up and blow away in the wind. Or it can be stepped on and squashed. So take my advice and be careful where the dog shits ya!
