  • Have to side with the Tobinator on this one,.
No tall poppy syndrome in this story mate.
I'd reckon anyone death riding him would want him back in the NRL. Parramatta fans seem convinced their in with a shot of him returning.

I can't understand why anyone would waste their time watching gridiron, let alone wanting to play it. Boring, drawn out , over-analysed american garbage...
Maybe Hayne is happy playing 3 minutes a week.
Maybe he likes dressing up as a storm trooper.
    Who cares.

The real problem is that thanks to Jarrod there's heaps of gridiron news everywhere.
    Can't escape it.
Gonna have to start calling him the Hayne Pain if he don't come to his senses.

    • So hayne is copping it because the media spruik him at every opportunity. Hardly his fault. Don't get me wrong the media coverage is ****ing ridiculous but to say he's wasting his talent because he's utilising it in a sport you don't understand or enjoy is just ignorant.

His point about Hayne being a small fish in that big pond is well made.

That's the choice Hayne has made.

He just thinks it's a shame and a waste of talent.

          American football fans are ignorant.
          Not this black duck.

          BTW, he's wasting his talent.
Just like he was at Parra.. only worse.

          • It was a way to escape that basket case of a club that he was playing for and i don't blame him.

I highly doubt they'll be able to afford him if and when he returns.

A fresh start at a new club and possibly an opportunity to win a comp.

            • My feeling is indeed that he's a massive waste of talent.

By all means he's free to do what he wants. But in the same way that it was incredibly frustrating to see Michael Jordan plod away as an awful baseballer, it's frustrating watching the most dynamic league player - perhaps of all-time - leave the game at 26 to ply his trade at another sport.

Too little too late at an elite sport that, if he truly made it, he was only ever going to be a punt returner. There was zero chance he'd ever be a full time running back.

So i just think it's a waste, from a selfish NRL fan's perspective to see a genius like Jarryd bust his gut during his prime to MAYBE get 3 or 4 touches per game for 17 weeks a year.

So even if he makes it, he'd get about 50 touches per year for another 4 or so years before his time is up. That's 200 touches of a football for the next half decade. Thrilling. He'd get that many involvements in a month in the NRL.

Good for Hayne for following his dreams. In his own words he "achieved everything in the NRL" (Hello, Premiership?) so he wanted a new challenge. I get that. But from a fans perspective I'm enjoying it as much as I enjoyed MJs sabbatical in baseball.

              • The average sausage gets more than 50 touches a year.

                Fark that for a sport!

Yeah I understand your point. All I'm trying to say is that it's only a waste of talent to one eyed league fans (such as myself) but to everyone else in the world it's a freakish and amazing achievement to get as far as he has in such a short period of time. The difference in amount of touches is irrelevant as the games aren't comparable. It's like saying a Jonathan Thurston is wasting his talent because he only touches the ball 50 times a game but if he was a ping pong player he'd get a 1000 in a game.

Apart from league fans, the majority of rest of the world couldn't care less about him.

True Cock! On Hayne I'd rather Latrell get plenty of game time in 2016 and keep our current backs than see Hayne force the loss of what could be in 2017..

I meant other athletes and fans who know hayne, know the nrl and nfl and can appreciate the gravity of what he's achieved in crossing over. Regardless of what ppl think of the nfl, it's a tough nut to crack.

Last boarding call for Jarryd Hayne!
With his NFL career becoming more and more uncertain, Jarryd Hayne may have given a hint as to where his future lies.
The Hayne Plane has been linked with the Sydney Roosters since leaving to follow his NFL dream and his Instagram picture alongside club legend Brad Fittler and speed conditioning coach Hayden Knowles will only fuel the speculation.

The 27 year old former NRL star was once again overlooked by 49ers coach Jim Tomsula for their upset win over Atlanta Falcons and fresh reports have emerged of a meeting between Roosters boss Nick Politis and Hayne's manager.
Hayne's return would be welcomed the NRL, particularly after the highly publicised return of Sam Burgess from rugby union.

                              • Guys like Hayne who have natural ability & are committed to fitness know that there will be challengers in what goals they set themselves. They know there will be highs & the lows so at this stage I still cant see him returning to the NRL but I wish he would especially if it was with the Roosters.
