Kandy Tamer & Sonny Tuigamala must go close to being in the best/favourite Easts side. Graham Appo springs to mind as well & what about Gus's purchase, Graham Mackay. Shocker.

Elsegood played it hard & was a top winger IMO

The story said he is as a good a signing as JWH when we signed him from Manly and turned him into what he is today.
      Good signing or not ?

Knight is a good player, but he is not a prop but will be a good mobile backrower. He gets a few problems with his ankle after a nasty accident a few years back falling down some stairs, but he is young and if he looks after himself he could have a very bright future. The opportunity is to Get Knight now this week and sign him up .Manly need to release 3 or players to finalise the signing of Walker.
Also if your looking for fill in fullback I would get Hiku on the cheap as he might get released ..I rate him highly -he has just gone missing since his debut with Manly needs a wake up call and can cover wing center as well if need be.
(Knights stats is that of a first grader) I am certain he woud be a good buy.

Rumour is Manly see Walker as a 5/8, but it seems a bit risky to be releasing three players on an experiment.
            Barret's first master stroke?

I didn't realize Hiku was a recognised fullback. I thought he was a winger that filled in when Stewart was injured?

I think they might play Lyon at 5/8 and keep Walker in the centres and perhaps develop him into a 5/8.

Hiku's a fullback primarily but I'd say he's more suited to centre.

Hiku is definitely a fb and would be a massive pick-up for us. I hope we're looking at him for 2yrs. I still remember him getting man of the match when we beat manly 4-0 in that semi final in 2013 where he played fb and ran for 250 odd meters.

He had a killer season filling in the spot several times for Stuart when he was out ......but has gone lame of recent....needs a new club and change of scenery may have some developed baggage.

Thanks for that , all , I never really noticed Hiku before.
Everyone here seems to rate him.

I've just been informed that Hasler was chasing him as a Barba replacement, but he re-signed with Manly because Toovey saw him as Stewart's successor.
Maybe Manly's loyalty to Tooves and the rise of Tom Trobjevic has changed all that.

Having Hiku at fullback would be like trading the Porsche for a 1970s Datsun. And I rate Hiku.

                            I like Hiku.

He runs hard and is a good finisher.Plays well under pressure.Bomb defusal is good. Just doesn't have the supreme ball-playing skills of B Stewart. Not many fullbacks do.

Covered plenty of ground retrieving Pearce's long kicks back in the 2013 week 1 final.

Just has to clean up his diet a touch.

                            He wouldn't come cheap.

Agree Hiku is a fullback. Manly have too many centres but don't have a specialised winger, they put players there who are not wingers. They also have too many hookers

although Hiku is by no means a superstar, I would feel a lot more comfortable about next season knowing he was on the roster as an option at either FB/Wing/Centre, would mean we could leave the Toups/Jenko and Fergo/SKD combinations alone.

would also be good insurance policy should SKD be found guilty of his charges.
