  • Liam Knight

I read that we are about to sign Liam Knight from Manly.
Haven 't heard anything about him or seen him him play but they said he is a superstar in the making.
The story said he is as a good a signing as JWH when we signed him from Manly and turned him into what he is today.
    Good signing or not ?

I read that article and I thought they were indicating he had been signed by Manly on a first grade contract, it didn't actually say we had signed him.

I actually thought he had already been signed but it looks like he is staying at Manly. Matthew Lodge should be back in Australia soon I think, he may be worth a look at.

Besides JWH , it's hard to think of a player we've signed from Manly that's turned out well.
Eden won the Rothmans , and was good short term value, Cleary came via Norths, ..............
I'd have to go way back to John Harvey.

Doesn't count - he was a Rooster first.

Bob Fulton could play a bit.

I asked this a month ago.. he hasnt upgraded with Manly yet but has one year to go same as for that Bulldogs player we are after.

I would guess if we've signed him that it would mean an immediate release. Manly probably feel he isn't likely to go anywhere just yet and so have until mid season to contract him.

Melrose was good value , forgot about him.

Fulton I forgot about on purpose.

                            Holy crap Axe..........
further proof my short term memory is screwing me over.

I know a bit about why he ended up a rooster and all.
(opposite to Fittler, even though the'd both signed ARL contracts)
Big success story , on field and off.
The Rooster emblem on his dash made ute racing easier to stomach back then too.

Love to have him on the wing in my favourite Easts side, but Mullins and Fahey beat him to the punch.

                            Sorry Jack.

I value your point of view but personally see Fahey as a souffs player first and foremost. Good player though, even for the vermin
