Resting might be good for players with a niggle otherwise they should be up. If Jennings is out, I feel SKD May put his hand up though not having played for a while is a risk.

Just remembering big Artie resting a few against Canberra in the last round in 87 gives me bad nightmares. It gave Canberra momentum in the finals and I think we lost to them to reach the final. I do believe we were favoured to win that year as well.

I cannot believe this talk of R26 being a dead rubber.
I agree with you, but I do remember that Brisbane fielded a pretty weakened team in the last round of the 2000 season and we beat them 28 to zip. They won all their subsequent finals including the GF against us. So, it's not necessarily a no no.

I would be very surprised if Greg Inglis was not fit for selection for our round 26 encounter. He may not play due to their squad resting players but the South Sydney Rabbitohs under Michael Maguire have continually over stated injuries to their players.

Then we could give Latrell a run in a 'dead' rubber in his most familiar position. Also give thought to Joey Manu having a run in the centres or Wing, however I wouldn't want to rest Toops and Blake might need gametime to keep improving his combo with Elliott. It would have to be for Jennings then. I would also consider giving Napa and or Guerra rest too and throw on Vicent Leulilai (spelling) and one of the depth guys (Setu, Paea, Manu).

Unfortunately 2nd tier restrictions would restrict Joseph Manu from debuting. On the other hand Latrell & Vincent are good to debut.

We actually beat Canberra in week 1 of the finals quite easily. It was the loss to Manly the following week that stuffed us. The no try to Danny Shepherd cost us the match. Manly BTW were huge favourites to win the comp.

The semi against Manly was one of the most brutal I can remember.

And stuffing up the head bin replacement of Trewhella. Kept him off for 11 minutes instead of 10 and he couldn't return.

Plus we were massively rorted by the ref. But that was usual in Arko's days.

I reckon that sums it up.

SKD can't just show up on game day. He is supposedly not training at the moment so he won't be playing.

Andrew Walker could just show up and play.

Gee I miss seeing him go around.
