  • Inglis out of round 26 showdown with us

apparently having knee surgery today to cleanup some minor damage.

hopefully we win on Friday night and either the Broncos/Cowboys lose so we can also rest a few in round 26.

if we have a top 2 position secured I would be giving RTS/Maloney/Friend/Napa the week off in round 26.

So all this talk of Inglis being right for Thursday is rubbish. In fact, it seems very unlikely that he'd play again this year.

Despite this, I'd give the Vermin a big chance of beating the Broncos who would be feeling very battered and bruised after we beat them up.

And yes, sending the Wyong Roos out to play the Vermin in the last round would be tempting if we have a home final in the bag. However, I suspect if the Minor Premiership prize is up for grabs, they'll go hard for it.

Resting players Rnd 26 IMHO would be a mistake, they seem up to speed but not battle hard.

Resting some will interfere with their continuity as a complete unit.

Win the next 3 in a row (includes first finals game possibly V Sharks) & they ALL GET A WEEKS REST.

I don't know if we will rest players.

Sadly it seems Bennett is planning to rest some against Souffs. Hell of a risk though.

          Resting is for pussies.

          I want to destroy Souffs.

would normally agree but we have now won 10 in a row and will likely see some physical/emotional let down this week against the Eagles, if we manage to get over the Eagles and other results fall our way we should freshen up some of our players, also given what happened on Saturday night, keeping our key players out of harms way wouldn't be the worst strategy.

although obviously two totally different sports, it has worked well for the likes of Hawthorn/Geelong over the last 5yrs to sit more experienced players both throughout and towards the end of the season to make sure they are as close to their physical peak come the finals.

obviously this strategy can only work if you are secure in your position on the ladder, depending on results we still may have to win both games to secure a top two spot, but if this is secured before round 26 I'm sure its an option that will be considered even if its only one or two players.

Back in 2013, Robbo stated that momentum was too important to rest players, even if the last round did not have any bearing on our table position.
I think this maintains the hard-nosed approach he wants to instil in our team - always give 100% independent of the opposition or the situation.

                    HELL YEH!
Maybe we could bump them from 5th to 6th so they don't get a finals game in front of their toothless fans,

Without JWH it is likely the team will lift against Manly
Robbo will see to that, he's not one to reflect on the ten wins
There is more work to be done as he alluded to in the post match presser
It's likely Manly will give it everything in the first 20 mins
Our intensity & focus will deny them any opportunity

Kill or be killed, that should be the motto. None of this 'taking it easy' bullshit.

                          At this crucial time
You cannot protect players, treating them like silk worms.
It needs to be the best team possible to play each week & cop the consequence...
                          Especially against our enemy Souths....

If we win next week and either Brisbane or the Cowboys lose, I would rest Roger in round 26. He has done a lot of miles and might need to freshen up. Then we could give Latrell a run in a 'dead' rubber in his most familiar position. Also give thought to Joey Manu having a run in the centres or Wing, however I wouldn't want to rest Toops and Blake might need gametime to keep improving his combo with Elliott. It would have to be for Jennings then. I would also consider giving Napa and or Guerra rest too and throw on Vicent Leulilai (spelling) and one of the depth guys (Setu, Paea, Manu).

taking a R26 loss into the finals is a NO, NO

Not fronting with our best team lacks respect & we will pay

I cannot believe this talk of R26 being a dead rubber.
