Yes Warren Smith is no fan of the Roosters. But he does not allow his dislike of the Roosters to cloud his judgement when calling our games. I've enjoyed the fact that many of our games this year have been on Foxtel and not Nein!

In 1990 and 1991 I worked at 2KY, & experienced the foul mouth of Ray Warren. I was in my early 20's and I prepared a sports quiz for his radio show. I remember one time, he stuffed up a question and during the ad break, Ray blamed me, called me for everything. I was shattered. So, I'm a bit bias. Ray Warren isn't the Mr Nice guy, everyone makes him out to be.
One of his best mates is Ray Hadley. That tells you something !!

I agree with you and share your annoyance that the television commentators are more annoying than they are insightful or entertaining. I do recall a few years ago on Foxtel there was an option to watch the match with the audio of the crowd and the microphone effects picking up player and referee communication but without hearing the commentators which is sadly no longer an option. I do not like to hear the commentators but I do enjoy hearing crowd reactions and referee explanations.

Yes - I'd much prefer to hear just ambient crowd noise. Afterall, that is how we all experience the game live.

I'm becoming a bit of a fan of the Shirvo, Gaz and Banasta gig on Fox...with a dose of Lara Pitt. (Prob the best female commentator).

Gasnier is great to listen to...and he definitely likes us which helps.

Another future media star IMHO is Jamie Soward...like with Gaz I've been very surprised how comfortable and relevant he is in front of the lens.

My favourite team by miles is Vossy and Jimmy in the box with Gaz or Braith on the sideline.
